Social Toy Collectors Thread

Well , I visited about 8 shops , comic book , Lego , figures , clothes and in the end came back with....

A pair of Bugs Bunny socks for a friend who's had a lot of health issues and I thought it would be nice for him to open up an envelope at work and see those .

Another present for a friend at work , a 2000 ad graphic novel, cost $4 or so .

And a graphic novel for me, The Furies , $,4 or so .

No figures or anything else today .

I was watching CNBC and they had this stock expert CEO whatevers sounding like he was recommending buying Hasbro citing expanding margins, but I'm thinking if the tariffs stick, Hasbro is absolutely fucked.

Cool , divert all the Marvel Legends to the UK , saturate the market, drop the prices to like $1 and I will buy loads .

Retro Kingpin, Peter Parker, Jonah , Gwen would be nice.....

Trump keeps harping that "China is calling and we're making a deal!"

Xi's spokespeople are saying "We haven't called ANYONE."

Not to derail, but if you're going to pop on an item and you have the means, do it now. Because I think China will make this HURT just to teach "someone" a lesson.

Hasbro still has the MTG cow it’ll keep milking (integrity of the game be damned)

Amazon as seller, Marvel Legends:

60th Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man $49+
Ka-Zar $34+
MCU Matt Murdock $29+

Too expensive. These aren't even new pre-orders but stuff that already came out long ago.

I wanted the KaZar figure but he needs to come with Zabu like a deluxe set or two pack , not the

" buy 6 other figures "( of which only Cable I know) that you don't want...

I want Ka-Zar as He-Man, but indifferent on the big cat.

Marvel Legends has a history of re-releasing past BAF's as deluxe or two pack like Juggernaut, fat Kingpin, Joe Fixit(?). I would buy Ch'od as deluxe, and only bought Corsair and didn't pursue the BAF parts because usually eBay sellers want as much as the entire figure costs new.

Yup, this got a bit out of hand. 11 base colors. 4 washes. 4 dry brush colors. They need decals and bases, but the paint is mostly done sans a few minor touch-ups.

...and I hate them. I’m hoping that I can let them sit and I’ll soften to them, but right now I feel like I wasted a ton of time on these. The shitty thing is that there's nothing I could have done to go faster: most of it is just base color and a wash. It's just that a bunch of these colors have dogshit for coverage so I was doing 2-4 coats to achieve proper pigment saturation.

QFT. Those are sick . Would love to be able to paint like those have been done.

Went around a few shops today.

Ended up with no figures or toys . Found a second hand Colossus on a toy stall in the market but didn't bite on him , the joints were loose and he had trouble standing upright ( gets to us all in the end, things get floppy and won't stand up...) i think he might have been too small with hindsight....

Went to two comic places and found two ' Classic Conan ' , Marvel reprints of the Conan the Barbarian issues 4 and 5.

And 3 or 4 issues of 2000ad from the 80s , one I was missing which completes a run from 400 - 500..

I popped into my local Target store as I was out and about.

Batman: Year Two^

Actual cloth (soft goods) cape on the Batman figure.

I may have gone just a hair overboard.

That Batman looks decent.

Funny , I'm not a huge Hot Wheels fan, I only own one I think , a Star Trek Enterprise. I've seen other people looking through the pegs and it's piqued my internet and was watching some videos on YouTube about which ones are good buys ...

Buying Hot Wheels is a very low success rate activity because all the good shit you see on fan sites as upcoming will be wiped out instantly by people waiting outside the store before they open and by people who have connections to store employees who use their cellphones to call the insiders when a new case arrives. In a case there's maybe 2 of a particular car in a 72 count case.

It's best to be like those monks who are taught not to desire anything so they won't be disappointed when they don't find the good Hot Wheels.

Lol , I tend to stop and look at the HW in a couple of shops because they look cool . I just figured I'd do a bit of research so I know if there's anything good there .... I've seen the scalpers in local shops but I work odd hours and often I am in places when stuff first comes out...
