Just got an email from BigBadToyStore about tariffs.

"Tariffs – What Just Happened
For 25 years, we have operated as a family-owned business under a 0% tariff rate. Several months ago a 10% tariff was enacted for goods made in China. It was then doubled to 20%. In April a 34% tariff was added to the total, bringing us to 54%. Last night another 50% was added, and today (April 9th) an additional 21% was added, bringing us to 125% total tariffs on Chinese goods. Vietnam was to be subject to a 46% tariff, but it appears that this has been reduced to 10% for the next 90 days. These two countries manufacture 90% of the goods that we sell.

What is the Impact
This unfortunately is going to result in retail price increases on products impacted by the tariffs, including new and open pre-orders. We are working hard to minimize these increases through discussions with our vendors, deploying the most efficient importing processes, and ultimately sharing directly in the financial pain. I’m heartbroken to have to do this, and I hate this tariff situation: it is ridiculous, poorly thought out, poorly implemented, cruel and punishing to everyone involved in affected countries and at every level of our industry.

When and How will Prices Change
In the past month we have raised prices in a manner that was inclusive of expected tariffs, while also honoring previously pre-ordered prices. Unfortunately, the dramatic increases in tariff levels has now made this approach impossible."

TL;DR: Prices are going up even if you preordered something.

^ Was expecting that to happen to you colonial brothers , obviously most toys and similar are fabricated in the Far East . I suspect you are in for 'interesting times '...

Just saw a headline that we're now up to 145%. Jesus. Titty. Fucking. Christ.

"
Foreman added that the current tariff on China would insist on a $30 item to be sold, now, for $70 — so even if the toys are available in the United States, they'll be less accessible. "

Not sure how the tariffs are going to be calculated though .

Is it applied to the cost of items are sold at, so a Marvel Legends selling formerly in a shop at $30 is now done at $70 or is it done on the cost of the item that is shipped in upon arrival which could be $10 before costs ?

The price will be added onto the item in store. That's for the consumer to carry.

Fu......cccckkkk.......

Block heads better lay in a store ....

The amount of times I've looked enviously at your figures and the prices...see how this plays out...

I definitely ain't paying some crazy high jerk off prices for Hasbro stuff.

I watched an old youtube vid of Mazinger SD Cross Silouette which I bought because of Super Robot Wars, and now am itching for Getta Robo and Raideen if they have this same SDCS kits. I originally had the Mazinger in SD mode with short limbs, but like Cross Silouette mode better with elbows and knees.

In Apple News, they make it sound like Born Again Season 2 will have a much cooler black DD on chest costume, so wondering if I should cancel this shit looking MCU DD and buy a Season 2 version instead.

About tariffs, I'm hoping Super7 ReAction+ doesn't put out any o-ring GI Joe I want during the high price era. I feel like with Marvel Legends, I'm already close to saturation point. Maybe GI Joe Classified too.

Had to go to Walmart today and I figured that since I was there that I'd browse the toys. I saw this one and I decided to pop on it since it was regular price (non-tariff).

Pre-ordered GIJ CS Battle Armor Cobra Commander and red highlights Major Bludd and both were $24.99 each.

When Amazon had their Spring sale, bought a second Quick Kick relatively cheap intending to do a headswap, but the neck ball peg is smaller than what Marvel Legends and WWE use. Within the past few weeks on Reddit, I saw someone make multiple posts about some 3D printed dumbbell replacement that's supposed to fit Marvel Legends heads and plugs into GIJ CS necks, but I think mods there probably deleted the posts. I'm now wondering if there's such tiny dumbbell hardware made out of aluminum, or maybe some sort of earring. Don't really want to buy a 3D printed dumbbell and have it break and not be able to remove it.

EDIT: This was/is on the GIJoeClassified reddit.

I had the original GI Joe Cobra C.L.A.W. probably because I felt too guilty if I bought anything bigger and more expensive. I did manage to dig it out within the past few years. Skipping this Classified version.

Did get my Super7 ReAction+ Duke, Serpentor, Wave 3 midnight blue Snake Eyes. Not much hope trying to find those in Target. Got mine from Amazon.

Turns out the Lego 5.9 ball part which is like Mixel balljoint ball fits the GI Joe Classified Steel Brigage head, but a bit difficult to pop it off with bare hands.
