Social Toy Collectors Thread

Ever consider buying 6" GI Joe Classified? Some are really well done, some can be bought new cheap. Stormshadow, redo Firefly, Retro Gung Ho, Tomax, Xamot, Crimson Guard, etc.

For 1/18 scale, also see Click N Play for F/A-18, but a review said some parts might break due to poor design.

Yes and no, limiting myself to the older stuff as I have a headstart. Some of the newer stuff though looks badass.

So managed to find a local FB group and watching our local auction sites. Got 4 new complete Joe's from the FB group. Trying to hit loose accessories now, 8 of the Joe's just need a single item to complete them.

Speaking of Lego space...

$39.99. That's $10 off and I believe they ship worldwide.
Have to wait until I'm employed again before any more lego purchases.

My wants:
SHIELD Helicarrier
Millennium Falcon
Infinity Gauntlet
Batwing
Black Panther bust

www .yojoe.com/action/whobit/

Yojoe.com has a tool on one page called whobit or something like that. It lets you look up what accessory came from what figure. I think you can start by looking up by color. They also have contents listings of each accessory in each of those accessory packs Hasbro sold.

Yesterday at discount store, I saw the relatively recent Walmart modern retro figures discounted to $7.99 each. Stalker and Cobra Trooper. I was gonna buy the Trooper to have a 2nd one for "army building", but the checkout line was too long. These are compatible with some Marauder Task Force heads and hands.

Right now might be the 6" golden age of GI Joe, so don't hestitate too long. Even Cobra Eel looks great, as does the new V2 Hawk, the two new dreadnoks.

The topic of a recent GIJoburg podcast was repro parts vs. original parts. Sounds like you might be interested in that episode. I found most of my original o-ring Joes, but still haven't found the cannister I kept the accessories in. Weird because the most recent thing I did with those was pull some Cobra rifle for Fruit Loops Han Solo Stormtrooper to use.

I bought the Microfighter version instead to get past a free shipping hump.

Didn't see any 50% off Lego at my Target. It seemed like just $1.xx off.

As a kid, the object of my lust among the Space theme was Blacktron, maybe some Futuron too. Couldn't get any really cool Blacktron space ship. In the past several years, I did buy minifigures of space bounty hunter and space police. Haven't paid attention to CMF's in a while. I'm a bit salty towards Lego after having a few pieces just crumble without rough play.

Yup used yojoe (brilliant site) to rip pictures so it's easier to remember and show what I'm hunting for.

Solid price. With shipping how it is everything in New Zealand is expensive. If you have any handy would love to see a pic or two!

Well, I picked this up today ...

I figured that I would treat myself as the Batman Lego I picked up I gave to one of the women at work for her son . I'm not a huge DC fan and her 7 year old will have fun putting it together...or his dad will, who I also work with....

So , I thought I'd get that to do in the quiet times at work...

Odd replying to myself....but , context.

So, the Lego Batman I gave away quite happily to one of my co-workers kids...well, his dad comes in our messroom today with a Christmas gift bag and in it are....

Which was very unexpected and they refused to take them back....

Pic of what?

Yojoe.com I heard was bought by some company and then basically abandoned and the original contributors left and maybe went to 3djoes.com. Hasbro should buy yojoe.com and the contents.

Pic if you have any of your collection on display.

Will check out 3djoes but yeah would be great if Hasbro brought it.

My collection is scattered in an incoherent way. I'm trying to use Marauder parts to make customs of whatever cool characters from TV, video games, but the hard part is getting a head with decent likeness.

SquareEnix is releasing FF7 figures based on the original art from the 1997 game. Looks like I'm about to be out $390 plus tax and shipping (gotta at least get Cloud, Tifa, and Barret).

I posted a pic of my collection awhile ago..

It looks like Fred Sandford's living room. :(

I'm guessing your house has one of those warehouse vaults connected to it like in TV shows like Alias where the government stores boxes of ancient artifacts on Costco sized shelves where you need forklift. All those mint in box boxes take up tons of space.

After I started buying those Pillowfort stackable metal wire bin crates from Target, I've been slowly trashing the boxes after I empty out all the accessories. Prior to that I've been stacking filled reusable Walmart shopping bags, but those seemed to dehydrate and literally crumble apart into messy dust. That polypropylene fabric seems to be used underneath my office chair and that also crumbled into a mess.

I dug out a lot of old toys, but there's still stuff I can't find and I know I didn't give away or throw away.

Stairs should be designed like that at right angle to make better use of space.

I'll post an updated pic here shortly.

I am not proud. :(
