Yea I dislike that modern ball torso a lot. Its why I really hated those joes they did in like 2011 or whatever. I still to this day think the 3 inch joes are the pinnacle of action figures and things have been downhill since. But im stuffy like that and my wife says im extremely resistant to change
When I see modern figures seemingly not use o-rings or rubber, I wonder why the old toys couldn't figure out a design that didn't use these materials that fail over time.

I think its all kind of a trade off. You get a toy thats a ticking time bomb either way. Its either gonna wear out at some point and come apart or its either going to go completely limp. Obviously they didnt make them super fixable because they were cheap and would rather you buy another one.

Assuming hasbro still has the molds I wish they had direct order stuff for past toys. Straight from the company no needing to learn to 3 d print or paint and give a company thats made me pretty happy over the years some money

I've been listening to a bunch of G.I. Joe podcasts and one of the things I heard was some sort of G.I. Joe fan club that sounded like they released a few figures over the years only to members then stopped. There might be details on yojoe.com. Sounded like they made official figures in limited runs and released them to members with actual cardbacks. I had no idea there was such thing.

The old figures may have been cheap, BUT they weren't available in the exact same character etc. each and every year. With Star Wars, they seem to include certain characters in more than one case mix and rerelease a few years later, which is how I bought the 6" Boba Fett via Black Series Archive.

That was one of my fave things gijoe did. I had several fave guys and couldnt wait for the new set to come out so I could see what they would look like next. I wish I woulda been big on collecting them when that club was still active but only the last few years that I got back into it

My fave guys of all time are snake eyes 93 i think with the neon orange goggles
storm shadow 87 i think with the hood and
gnawgahyde from 89 with the pig.

Very happy to find this Walgreens exclusive Obi Wan Kenobi Clone Commander Black Series 6" which may be from the first handdrawn Clone Wars cartoon shorts. I kept seeing people post finding this on the mainland USA and reading how impossible it is to find any Marvel or Star Wars Walgreens exclusives because the stores won't stock them or will stock one unit and scalpers will quickly horde them. Very few Walgreens here seem to carry any current toy inventory and the ones that do carry toys are stuck with really old stale unwanted stock that are never marked down for clearance. This Obi Wan sold out last week online within a few hours it seems.

I really don't like how Star Wars Black Series and Vintage Collection hips are weird unlike Marvel Legends hips. It's like the legs connect straight up, so you have to twist, then turn. Sometimes I don't even know which side is the front after twisting it.

Also saw today from some European comic con Black Series Kit Fisto & Plo Kloon are coming.

Great find!^

I'm going to check my local Wallgreens to see if I can snag...

Anything!

I first saw USA reports of this exclusive Obi showing up in stores last week, so I ran around to maybe 4 Walgreens and at two stores only saw Marvel Legends Dani Moonstar (passed even though there's scalping, and all long gone now) and Dragon Star SSJ Gogeta w/airbrushed tanned abs (also passed, not huge fan of this character) exclusives. I figured HI gets stuff late via ship, so assumed maybe this week Obi would arrive, so glad to see 3 pieces at one store. I also saw 3 pieces of DC Multiverse Bizarro Superman, I think. I'm guessing 3 pieces is the most they stock.

When I first saw this revealed a while back, I was like I gotta get this, then I'll buy if I find it, if not whatevers, then I gotta get this. I was never actively looking to buy these exclusives before until now. I had read many posts saying Walmart and Walgreens exclusives are really poorly distributed.

I'm heading out now. I'll let you all know if I scored anything.

Wish me luck! :)

Ok, I raided two Walgreens here and I snagged these!

The Green Goblin and Hydra pins look so cool to me, so I had to snag those also. I was looking for an Infamous Iron Man (Dr. Doom) but they didn't have it. I had to get out of there quick because the had the Far From Home Mysterio and a Fantastic Four Susan Storm.

My wife would've nuked me if I went on a splurge! :)

Thanks for the heads-up about that Clone Wars Obi-Wan!

I ordered this when I got an email from woot.com.

When trying to first order Obi Clone General online, I noticed they still had Infamous Iron Man via online only, not in stores.

How many Obi's did they have? I never looked for Magik or Emma Frost and never saw any. They still had Walgreens exclusive Invisible Woman? There's only old junk at stores here.

Never heard of woot, but saw they won't ship to HI even though fulfilled by Amazon. Hasbro on ebay or Hasbro Pulse also won't ship to HI.

This is the same Obi from the handdrawn cartoon that exploded the big bad motorcycle bruiser knight from the inside out.

I re-uploaded the pic of the figs and pins that I scored today since the other link went South.

One store had two Obi's and another had 5 along with around 5 Magiks. There was only one Invisible Woman that I saw. I saw the Infamous Iron Man at the Walgreens website but I hate paying for shipping! Amazon has spoiled us all! :)

When I was a kid, the Lego Castle System was coming out with some Robin Hood tree house/fortress sets and I was really wanting to get those but never did, I think.
