LMAO, so when he first fought Poirier it was "favorable match making", but when he loses it is not? How was Chad Mendes, Aldo, RDA and then Eddie favorable? How was Nate at 170 favorable - why not make him cut to 155 or pick someone else? Conor just went after the belt and biggest prizes, UFC gave him stiff tests to make sure he was the real deal before putting muscle behind him. The reason Chad was picked, not Frankie, was that Lorenzo felt Chad was better, and, he was ranked higher. Conor also beat the two greatest FW's of all time and walks at 168, making him average by modern standards and smaller than guys like Holloway who walk at 180.Conor was never special talent, just a product of favorable match-making at the right time.
end of discussion
The reality is Conor was an incredible fighter, one of the best P4P that we have ever seen in his prime, but he got rich, got addicted to God knows what, got complacent in those silk sheets and the last time we saw Prime Conor was in 2016. You can not take two years off this game, get wasted the whole time and come back to your same form.
