Touchbutt Conor was truly a special talent

Nice and flowy.

Conor was quite the sniper back in the touchbutt days.

lucky timing on Aldo,he lost to Nate twice,Mendes gassed
"lucky timing on Aldo" - ???? Aldo was undefeated for 10 years at that time lmao wtf.
"lost to Nate twice" - How tf can u possibly score rounds 1, 2 or 4 for Nate?? Clear 48-47 Conor
"Mendes gassed" - His body got completely butchered the entire fight which is why, and he was on steroids as well

Not really. Pre-IV ban he was an impressive weight cutter.

honestly, that one comment by diaz about "playing touchbutt in that dork in the park" did more damage to Conor than anything. After he stopped training with Ido because he became self consicious about it, he started to lose it.

If you think about it, this is such a stupid way to react to that. Like a child.
If that training really helps movement, then keep doing it.
Though I always did find Ido Portal to be suspicious (mainly focusing on what Ido Portal does in terms of training, how he treated students, etc).
If I remember correctly, I was reading online about some anger because Ido Portal charged lots of money for really crappy seminars where he might not show up, etc.
Typical business type snake-oil merchant type of stuff.

Conor was the man. He did everything he said he was gonna do. After the Floyd fight he's been a shell of his former self. Money, and his ego destroyed him. He's just reckless, and pretty dumb now tbh...

It's not just the money & the Floyd fight.
He always had big holes in his game, and the game caught up to him.
The Caucasians/Dagestanis' wrestling style is steam rolling everyone though, not just him.
But in terms of the rest, his power & style doesn't translate well at lightweight/Welterweight (except against past their prime like Cowboy).
He was always a weight bully at FW and could very well have been the FW king for a long time until retirement, if he managed to stay down there at that weight.

Conor very much fooled himself with his "buy into the hype", "the secret" level bullshit.
He thought he could beat anyone at some point, that weight classes don't matter, etc.
If he was very serious, he would diet like hell and make a comeback at FW.

Conor at FW was pretty amazing.
Due to the weight cut he was doing he had good size/reach, and power.
He also had cardio and speed, with some amazing distance control + footwork.
The IV ban + getting older killed his ability to make FW, and a lot of the added weight hurt the rest.
Combine that with the fact that he's had leg issues since the Mendes fight (I honestly think the Aldo fight was the last time we saw McGregor with a proper set of healthy legs) and yeah it's a stark contrast from where he once was.

I think he's trying to do the best with what he's got (shot legs, medium to undersized frame for the weight category, etc.) but it's a pale comparison to what he once was.

His first fight with Dustin was more competitive than most people make it out to be.
