islam beat Charles Volk and JDM at the peak of their careers. ilia beat volk and charles when they were still very good but obviously not at their peak. ilias resume is amazing but islams is better

Islam accepts fights where he has nothing to gain, Volk coming up in weight, it's looking like he'll fight Ian Garry next, he said he's open to fighting Morales. Why is Ilia dodging Arman? Ilia literally said he would rather vacate the belt than fight Arman Because it's a tough fight with limited upside for him.

? Both still Top 5 fighters fighting at a higher weightclass. Islams resume is Volk, who is much much smaller and still gave him hell in the first fight, and got koed on short notice. Oliveira, who had 7 losses and gets dropped in every fight he ever takes. Poirier (who retired 1 year after his fight with Islam after getting beaten by Holloway).

This is exactly why Islam was correct to not give Ilia the shot, if he beat Ilia he would still get zero credit from you clowns

Slow the speed down on a better quality video of that fight and it's clear that Volk's punch lands on Islam's shoulder while Islam was in process of going down to grab Volk's leg. He was just to gassed to do anything but pull guard and wait for the the final seconds of the fight to run out.

Are people actually arguing Topuria has a better resume? Makhachev was already in UFC when Topuria made his pro MMA debut. He has years on him. Quality-wise, if you look at the top 3 wins, Topuria can match pretty much anyone ever. But his resume really drops off after his top 5-6 wins. It's almost non-existent after. Dudes like Moises and Lentz wouldn't even make Makhachev's top 10 wins, and they'd be borderline top 5 wins for Topuria.
