Oh I know it's just MMA. I've been here a while if you didn't notice. And I've never been a Volk fan, so I'm not some rabid superfan trying to defend him at all costs. Volk has plenty of other skills and tools to win the fight that he didn't use this time. He'd be stupid to play a rematch the same way again, right into Topuria's strength.

To be honest if he was after an easier leagcy boost he would probably be pushing for a rematch, history does tend to tell us someone in Volks position is very likely to loose again and then he can be the one of get Volks remaining credibility.

That was no lucky punch, Topuria waited for a chance and the first time he attempted to take him out, he did. I think Topuria just had Volks number.

Of course it's different if it happens in the last minute of the fight. Getting beaten for almost 5 rounds is a bit more than just a read on someone.

Volk clearly deserves a rematch from all the wins he had at the division, it's hard to argue against it when rematches were given to lot lesser-deserving champs
