Top BJJ players?

Not to be and asshole and bring rickson into the thread, but how do you think he would do against some of these guys. Pure bjj he is unreal but how would he deal with x guards rubber guards and such?

so ADCC victories dont count? Wow...interesting
to tell you the truth, brazillian trials count more in BJJ than world adcc competition... other wise we would have to put buys like cacareco, monson, ferguson, gs pierre, dennis alman, vicenzo, among many others that don't actually count has major BJJ fighters

my little list

garcia, garcia, garcia, jacare, jacare, jacare, vieira abros, vieira bros, vieira bros, the nova uniao gang (feijao, leo santos, thales leite, robson moura, bruno bastos, etc), werdum, margarida, xande ribeiro, napao, andre galvao, terere, terere, terere, terere, god/ terere, roger greacie, among many others... I just came from the pub, so I am not in mi right mind... please forgive me the ones I have omitted...

monson is a wrestler who is getting better in bjj. He fight's like a wrestler.

Well no one's talkin about Rickson cause he doesn't compete, but to answer your question, he'd kill em all.

I agree with Johil d'o Leo Vieira needs to be on this list... and no offense, but I'm not convinced that Brown belt Jeff Glover deserves to be on this list yet. Someday, maybe, but not yet.

AGreed. I think Jeff Glover is fantastic and all as a brown belt, but I've seen him beaten multiple times by black belts. He's great but still developing. He's not reached his peak.

Then again, I saw him tap like most of the browns that he faced at the 2005 BJJ Pan Ams held in Carson, CA. Plus he won the North American Absolute Division to the 2005 ADCC, right? He's good, but not in the top 20 grapplers in the world or anything.

He has also been submitted by a purple belt as a brown belt.........by ankle lock. I guess his freakily flexible feet didn't help him that time. But give him a few years, he'll be up there with the best of them. He has beautiful jiujitsu.

when i added jeff glover, i was talking about top competetors at their level.

I have seen him several times and he is very very good, and for sure he isnt one of the best grapplers in the world, but he is extremely talented and with time he is going to become an awesome competetor

Sakufan - did you make up that awesome and comprehensive list??? that took some work. or did you pull it off some site?

you forgot feijao e leo santos two of the best bjjers ever (both much superior in BJJ then bj penn, matt serra, daniel moraes, ,rolls, etc) , plus I didnt see thales leite there, and shembri wasn't a meio pesado when he did BJJ compt

saying that if you putt "old timers" like romero cavalcantti yould put dede pederneiras e wendell alexandre. I would even put jair "lobo mau" lourenco in there, but I am biased :)

from all these guys that you left out, I guess you are not a NU fan...

GREAT LIST!?! GREAT LIST!?! HAVEN'T YOU READ A WORD OF WHAT i SAID?!?!!!!!

j/k :)
