Nog was a horrible striker and had poor takedown ability he also was not very strong he isnt taking Lewis down. Only in Pride superfan world do they think somehow Nog was a good striker besides Schaub the only 2 other guys he finished by strikes BOTH have losing records and 1 of them is a WW who weighed 178lbs and is 5"9 .... the other had his first fight ever when he lost to a Prime 25 and 2 Nog and also that guy went on to have a losing record.

Bob Sapp and that WW fighter and many other cans landed on Nog and outstruck him...

In Nog's defense, he basically had the Mir rematch won by tho but foolishly went for the guillotine.

Its a bit of a mix I would say, I think Werdum and Reem were guys who moved sideways across there career havign different strenghts/weakness and were not badly declined in those fights but Hunt, Arlovski, JDS 2, Cormier 3, etc were all clearly post prime for me.

Added to that as well Stipe never had a very long undefeated run, loses to Struve, JDS, Cormier and Ngannou and I think even besides those matches you can see fights like Reem were he was in big trouble. People hype up Nog always taking a beating but really in his prime it was a 340lb prime Sapp, Crocop and Fedor who inflicted punishment on him, much of the rest of the time he actually took less punishment were as Stipe's defence has always looked iffy to me.

They have to overrate Nog because he is one of Fedors best wins. Personally I rank Mir, Arlovski, and Cro Cop as better wins for Fedor also longevity.

Hoost is the only good wins Sapp has and that was in Kickboxing not MMA also Hoost is not the Kickboxing GOAT

That logically belongs to Peter Aerts, or Semmy Schilt or Rico Verhooven but in my opinion it belongs to Schilt considering he beat Aerts and Verhooven

Jumping knee but honestly I don't think its a badly timed knee at all, not like say Struve/Browne or Babalu/Lambert were the other guy can react whilst they are in the air and KO them. He has Fedor bouncing off on the ropes towards him which is a good setup for the knee, the problem he has is that Fedor picks out what he is doing VERY fast and the counter actually lands before Arlovski even gets off of his feet. If he had gotten off of his feet it would have been very hard for Fedor to counter him, he'd have been too high up.

He took a risk to land a big shot(landed a big knee on Rothwell the fight before this)but he didnt make some terrible error, he just got countered very well.

What’s tough for Mir is that while he’s got quite a few good wins, he has one UFC title win but was stripped (no fault of his own); he also won the Interim title but never had a successful defense. Arlovski, Couture, Cormier, and Sylvia even, have better title runs.

Why "Sylvia, even"? His run was one of the best at the time. Probably only second to Fedor's.
Super hard working and very underrated guy, probably due to his late years.

Schilt also has 4x K1 championship wins and unlike Hoost won 3 in a row and also beat Hoost 2x decisively and even finished him... He also won the Glory Championship 1x and beat Rico Verhoeven who is the current champ.

Nog is not an amazing top 5 HW. But Fedor is above Stipe due to well roundness and resume but it is close because Stipe only ever fought 2 cans unlike Fedor who smashed like 12.

Fedor is number one because his name back then and his way to finish his opponents was spectacular, he won some fights by decision but h e was always dominating.

I would say maybe JDS as second due to his way to finish fights, then maybe Ngannou.

I think he's do very well in todays UFC with all the strikers with limited grappling, unlikely for him he was in the era of Fedor, Nog and Barnett.
