Thanks bro! I think the reason I requested it is I honestly can't vote. It'll be fun to see how this all goes down...now where is my popcorn?

No problemo my friend. : - )

I reckon da DOC would get the draw on him, but Barnes been done shot seven times and he still ain't dead

Holiday by a distance of all outside. That was one of greatest roles in Westerns history

My personal Holy Trinity of Westerns is, in no particular order,

The Searchers

Unforgiven

Tombstone.

YMMV

Not certain this is a fair comparison, as Doc Holiday is a good guy, while Sgt. Barnes is a bad guy. Make no mistake, Berenger was great.

Yeah but there are better and more iconic villian portrayals than Sgt Barnes, who would be lucky to be in a best best acted villian top 10, or even 20.

Shit, put Ledgers Joker vs Doc for a good poll.

@Takes Two To Tango : iconic villian vs iconic hero tournament (or best acted, either or), one side of the bracket is heroes, other side villians.... take the top 4 (or more whatever) of each side and make the ultimate showdown in the finals.

Barnes. One of my all time favourites.

Berenger's performance also inspired Tom Hardy in The Revenant.

As for Kilmer, yeah I still forget I'm watching Kilmer as Holliday he was that good, but I think the Barnes role was way better, required more, has more powerful scenes etc.

Aaaaaaand Berenger doesn't win an oscar or anything lol. Pathetic.

Kilmer was more memorable with the catchphrases, badassery and such. But Berenger was easily the better performance. I still use this quote every now and again.

You bring up a good point about the catchphrases. IMO "I AM reality" is one if the goats and "not me, I'm in my prime" is as well.

For me, I think, Val's doc Holliday, while being a bad mofo, was also a troll.

Barnes wasn't trolling at all, not even a little bit

The lunger.
Is that how it's spelled? I never looked it up but I've always wondered.

Also, the first chopin nocturne I learned is the one that doc played. I question how he found the sheet music for that, but hey, Hollywood magic is a term for a reason.

Do you really think Ledger had a better performance there? You are kidding, right?

I did the Ledger vs. Kilmer one already. And thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep that in mind. : - )

Also, this good guy/bad guy trope...let's not forget that doc holiday knifed a guy over cards in the first scene...and Barnes, while a prick seemed to be super hyped into the "machine" himself and his fellow soldiers
