Movies Val Kilmer acting performance in Willow

This could very well be my favorite movie of all-time.

Loved it as a child and I love it now.

I was enthralled watching Val Kilmer in this. I just love the character and his acting.

He was just brilliant like usual.

I thought general keels helmet was so cool. Mad mardigan was an awesome character and at least once a week I wish my house was infested with willow brownies. I swear to God I would cause so much trouble pulling capers with those little dudes. I would never leave home without at least a few of them.

Loved the slow burn on Martigan:

Brags about being the greatest swordsman alive, and you question that, then he starts displaying some badass tendencies and you're like "get this man a sword", then he gets one for a brief second and you get a tease...then when he finally gets full gear and starts fucking everyone up.

General Khale was an awesome villian with the coolest mask.

Old lady fistfight!

Great mix of doom, humor, drama and action.

Such a fun movie.

I'd guess the film always caught a bit of flack for being a much lighter take on LOTR but I think taken on its own merits its still very fun, remember watching it several times at the cinema back in the day.

You could argue I spose it kind of highlights why Val never became a more generic movie star, was always a bit too interesting/fun to just play a standard hero.
