Media Tom Aspinall apologizes to Jon ! UPDATE ! Clarification and confirmation of sincerity

Gane literally in his own words said Blaydes wasn't a good matchup for him and that he won't fight him, and also declined to fight with Aspinall because he said he wasn't ranked high enough despite being #4 at the time. Gane then went on to accept a #7 ranked opponent.

FYI Blaydes and Aspinall have far better grappling than Ngannou and a washed up Jones, but Gane doesn't have a choice but to fight these guys when it's for the belt. It's why he's now willing to fight Aspinall even though he knows the chances are slim.

Nobody said he's scared, he very openly ducked them, and that's just a fact that destroys your opinion. Learn to comprehend, maybe.

Pavlovich bodied the guy who Gane ducked by saying he wasn't a good matchup for him, and also ducked Aspinall.

<WhatItIs>

Khabib also says Pavlovich's wrestling is superior to Ngannou's after Ngannou wrestlefucked Gane, so putting all this together it seems like your opinion is really pretty comical.
I skimmed this but see all kinds of MMA math and cope. The lightweight says Pavlovich is a great wrestler in the gym. Cool. Too bad he lasted 30 seconds.. maybe he should have used it on Oldvereem when he was getting handled.

imagine thinking a stiff bum like Blaydes would out grappled Bones. It really must be a blissful life to live that delusionally.

Skimmed it but responded to every point Lol

Was hoping you'd have some good counterpoints.

In the end, Gane's best win is Volkov, and has openly ducked Blaydes and Aspinall.

Just do like Tom, man up, and admit you were just being salty. It happens bro. No shame in admitting defeat, like Tom.

Tom is such a nice and wholesome standup guy, apologizing for his remarks… I mean who actually wants to watch the best active HW’s in the UFC fight for the belt when we can see the UFC match up a few dusty trophies in a legacy fight.

Very fair take by Tom

He's doing what he can to get a fight with Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic

The Greatest UFC LHW Champion of all time, and the Greatest UFC HW Champion of all time

No harm there.

If I was Tom, I wouldn't have apologized. Jones was clearly gotten to. But Tom is too nice.

Man, instead of apologizing, if Tom said something like "Watch your mouth Jon, this isn't LHW. Don't make me teach you a lesson"

Man... something along those lines. I bet you Jon would fight him.

But nah. Tom's too nice.

You're so salty that you have to invent an alternate reality. Here's what Gane said :

Which is exactly the same reason why Aspinall doesn't want to fight Gane anymore. Also, you constantly speak about Blaydes, but this is what happened to your hero against Blaydes :

If someone has to fight Blaydes again, it's clearly Aspinall because he lost to him (and was losing all the exchanges before his injury). Young, few fights in the UFC, yet his apparently weak body could not even handle Blaydes who is already not the same anymore after his brutal losses against Ngannou and Lewis.

Gane fought Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones. But I'm sure he's scared of the much less accomplished and lesser fighters. lmfao. "You sound like such a bad ass", bro you're on an online forum calling a monster fighter scared of other men. lolol.

Also, funnily enough, MMA math only work in the same direction :

- Aspinall beat Sergei who beat Blaydes, so Aspinall > Blaydes. It doesn't matter if Aspinall likely doesn't have the same power than Sergei to stop Blaydes the same way while Blaydes may still have a better chin than Sergei (even after all his brutal losses).

- But when Gane put a much better fight than Blaydes against Ngannou (injured but still) Blaydes is still superior to Gane.

If Aspinall truly apologized, that's a cowards move.

Speak your mind and own it. Only JJ fans would disagree with Tom's view, and I'm a JJ fan.

He said Jones mentality and skillset was average.

Its clear that I'm responding to the overall message he's projected so far.

Which post I responded to is irrelevant. What he's said so far has been so ridiculous that It's very unclear whether anything he's said Is a joke as well.

In regards to the thread, I was fair with respect to both Jones and Aspinall in acknowledging how I feel about their situation.

I found a photo of @Marko Polo

trying to debunk his career by saying he beat a bunch of old, washed up middleweights sounds purely emotional to me.

It's a hateful way to try and discredit someone and people do it when they're In their feelings.

They don't like Jon, his image, his actions that have ended up in the media or whatever the case may be. As such, they do anything In their power to make his accomplishments seem less than they are.

While also pointing to the next guy who's gonna knock him out, which would finally validate this image and narrative of him being a fraud.

This same energy Is seen In all sports, Ironically, these are the types who are far too biased to analyze things rationally and objectively.

Not liking someone is fine. We're all entitled to our opinions and feelings. But the truth doesn't care about our feelings.
@Marko Polo has an intellectual disability, please don't be too harsh on him

lol at all the weirdos claiming he was being sarcastic and stupid Americans wouldn't get it

shut the fuck up

Kinda lame to admit defeat like that. Aspinall has a legit claim to be the undisputed champ if Jones doesn't fight for a full year and plans to fight stipe next instead of the interim champ. That's what's the most revolting imo

Let go of the pearls you're clutching and take a chill pill.

Jones is 36 going on 37. He has an entire three successful careers of title fights on his resume. If he wants to fight Stipe, now is the ONLY time because Stipe is too damn old. That fight will sell, it has meaning to Jones, it has meaning to Stipe.

Aspinall isn't going anywhere. He does have 10 years left in this. And whether he fights Jones after Jones fights Stipe, or Jones retires and Aspinall fights some other lesser fighter for the title, whatever, doesn't matter.

The heavyweight division is really pretty underwhelming. Aspinall, if he is so good, should have no trouble securing a W against a Tai or someone like that in the interim if he wants to stay active.

This sport is not a pure meritocracy. You have to meet the minimum threshold for merit, but if you far exceed the interest/economic incentive/legacy/etc aspects, you can jump ahead of merit easily.

Them whole problem is not about Jones. It's about Stipe. He has no place being in the title picture in 2024 after a 3 years layoff and being sent to the shadow realm in his last fight, when there's a perfectly healthy interim champ ready for the unification bout

I 100% agree in terms of merit.

Problem is, Stipe has 4 heavyweight title defenses. He's the last guy to beat Francis. His name still holds merit because he's 3-2 in his last 5 fights in 5 years against Cormier and Francis. A win over him on a resume has a lot of meaning for Jones and the UFC does tend to sell guys long after their expiration date because people will still buy.

So I don't think the problem is Stipe or Jones. If there is a problem... It's the UFC match making motivation.

That being said, I don't personally think it's a problem. It's pretty rare someone doesn't get their shot when they deserve it, Tony being the most notable.

Pshh, pussy. Double down. Jon should vacate or defend. March will be the 1 year mark since his last fight, and by the end of March he should be stripped of the title.
