Health Insane 1960s High school Gym Class

This is what it was.

Wonder if we can go to these standards again.

And they did this while smoking two packs of cigarettes a day, walking 10 miles each way up the hill in the snow to school, working full time at the local hardware store after school to pay off the $30k mortgage on a starter 5 bedroom home, and at the same time raising three toddlers.

They just don't make them like they used to

My parents had a 75k mortgage in L.A county in the 90s which is very laughable even adjusted for inflation. They had it easy. on two incomes. Cars aren't even that cheap anymore.

Most everyone was fitter and in better shape back in those days. Diets were different back then. I suspect that has played a big role in why so many kids today are out of shape and obese.

I saw yesterday that new dietary guidelines came out. The diet ideas are more similar to what was eaten in the 60s I'm thinking. Maybe the new guidelines will eventually see Americans in better shape. I believe the new guidelines will shape school lunches.

Then again too, I just finished a book about cheese and how the author theorizes how Americans eat so much more cheese today compared to past generations and how that is contributing to obesity. I suspect there to be some truth in that.

Also we take a lot more antibiotics than was taken in the past. Antibiotic use has been linked to weight gain.

Children Who Take Antibiotics Gain Weight Faster Than Kids Who Don’t

Not buying it. This footage is probably taken out of context entirely, i.e. there was surely a preselection of fit teenagers for it like a sports programme or some kind of Hitler Youth or boy scouts.

I've seen a similar clip passed off as a Japanese high school gym class from the 60s with a bunch of really strong guys in their 20s.

It was Kimura coaching the national judo team through partner bodyweight drills.

If this clip isn't AI the ripped guys in the thumbnail are probably a college sports program at the very least.

Seems like they just hired a bunch of buff models for propaganda.

I think we have a bigger weight lifting culture than ever due to Narcissism.
I thought we collectively decided to stop using the "N" word as it's been beaten to death

My High School gym teacher was my Wrestling Coach and he'd threaten to have me beat up the other kids when they were slacking <36>
lol my high school gym teacher was wrapped way too tight, he was basically Ken Shamrock. A dude who's normal state of being was acting like a grenade might be thrown in the gym at any second.

Dude loved saying "YOU'RE BENCHED!"

I think he got a hard on every time he got to say that.
