Wait, State senator?

If we're going to start paying attention to them, I would like to hear more about Leland Yee-Shrimp Boy fiasco.

Much more interesting.
Yeah, these moronic comments are good for a brief laugh but that's about it. Yee's bullshit, that's pretty fucking fantastic.

Though, you can find some comparably moronic statements being said higher up. Yee still reigns supreme.

are you the thread police?

It relates in two very important factors:

1. they are state senators.
2. they did something you (presumably) disapprove of.

Perhaps you missed those relationships.

Generally I would think it quite interesting for those that that want to extrapolate the behavior of politicians at that level to the entire political party and all its voters.

state senators do all kinds of retarded stuff. we cant cram it all in this thread. as for the extrapolation, both sides do dumb stuff, so trying to discredit a party based on state senators is pretty dumb.

Uh no that was me trying vainly to explain the concept of a principle to you. And I was probably talking about socialized medicine anyway. Forcing people to pay for things (via labor they wouldn't otherwise choose to do) violates the principle of ownership of yourself.

But thanks for finally providing a link. Now we can see what the guy actually said:

If the principle is that genocide is wrong, then doing something that is not genocide is not a violation of the principle. Your post indicated an inability to grasp this.

Ownership is when society recognizes one person as having the right to use something and exclude others from it. You can't exclude someone from their own thoughts and actions. "Self-ownership" is incoherent.

He's not comparing obamacare to anything, he's comparing the bragging about people doing they are forced to do by law. More of a Godwin's law type thing than the Bush-worse-than-hitler type comparisons we enjoyed 8 years of.

He's saying bragging about Obamacare signups is like bragging about sending Jews to concetration camps. That's a comparison.

People can choose not to sign up and pay a small fee instead. I work in the healthcare sector. I deal with people who don't have insurance every day.

It's still irrelevant. You could simply start a new Yee thread.

Everyone who voted for the ACA, as well as the judges who voted that the mandate should remain in effect due to it being 'constitutional' off some bullshit interpretation should deal with the harshest of punishment.

Just as people burned their draft cards, burn your 'small fee' card. We all know it's bullshit, we all know the cost of that 'small' fee will increase exponentially in size over the years, and we all know some people will go to jail for refusing to be forced to pay for something. Fuck all the people who voted for the ACA and the people who rules it as constitutional.

Ignoramus.

Take it up with all the historic figures and groups cited herein: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-ownership

yeah... to the people doing the bragging, not to obamacare.

I love hearing comments like this, you can just imagine the PR consultants when they hear about it, "They fucking said what??"

Somehow I doubt that the people asserting that it's a rule that you can't talk about something bad one state senator says or does without bringing up every bad thing that every other state senator has said or done aren't consistent about applying the rule.

A general rule of thumb to be followed by right-wing politicians in this country should be that you should not make comparisons to Nazi Germany, period. Just stay away from it. You inevitably look like a dummy.

Why? Cause of a meme?

I agree.

This was a frontpage news story for a while on Yahoo news.

When "Shrimp Boy" was trying to buy rocket launchers from hypocritical gun control champion and Democratic State Senator Leland Yee it was backpage news.

This double standard has to end!

these clowns are really overplaying their hand

comparing obama to hitler or north korea might play well with the crazed deranged tea party base but normal people will not be amused, hopefully

still, there is such incredible irrational amount of anger in the right wing hardcore base

is it because they are losing the culture war? truly fascinating

You say you agree with me, but you pretty clearly were not able to understand what I said. Let me try again: There are posters--yourself included--who are implying that there is something wrong with talking about something bad a state senator said unless you also talk about everything bad every other state senator has said. Those people cannot be consistent in applying that rule (it's simply not possible). That means they are being disingenuous. Not a surprise, I trust, but worth noting, IMO. Let's try to do a better job, people.

Yes, but that's a positive to the constituents of many regions.

Yeah I was having a light hearted satirical laugh at your arguments expense.

Is it news worthy of the War Room? Sure!

Is it interesting? I suppose!

Is it a big deal? No!

Are there posters here who are hypocrites on the right? Yes!

Was a Democratic State Senator and Gun Control advocate trying to sell illegal arms to a Chinese gangster a bigger and more interesting story? Yes!

Was the media all over it? No, lol come on he is a Democratic and his hypocrisy is regrettable, but the cause is something we believe in, the P-r-o-g-r-e-s-s-i-v-e way of the future... so sssssh, let's play the media game and talk up the hyperbolic rhetoric of Rep from a less important Southern State because he has "R" next to his name, and downplay the "D" Senator trying to sell automatic weapons to a Chinese Gangster... bad for the narrative, and we do love the narrative.
