Tito is little underrated imo

Asserts Tito is underrated, then goes on to make a bunch of excuses for his losses.

He was a ufc champion with some really good wins. He best wins were against Vitor, W. Silva, Bader, Mezger, Tanner, Forest. He did draw with Evans, but a point deduction cost Tito the win.

Interms of legacy Tito was abit unlucky cause he faced very tough competition when he was passed his best.

I think people can generally separate their dislike for Tito from his mma career.

Dude this is Sherdog, barely anybody can do that. That's why people here act like Conor and Bisping are cans.

If you can still call a fighter great and praise their skills and accomplishments despite disliking them then you're a RARE breed on Sherdog.

His skull size is underrated as well. It looks TST.

What most don't take into account is that Tito was not just the champ, he was the face of the UFC for several years. If there was any mention of mma in mainstream media, chances are it was Tito. He did a good number of movies/tv shows and made a few appearances with TNA wrestling. The guy was huge in bringing mma mainstream.

He's got that Dollar Store Smile.

One of the great pioneers of the sport. Huge reason why I started watching. Loved the whole Tito, Chuck, Randy rivalry.
Easy to hate on the guy, but definitely earned a spot in the hall of fame... if Dana didn't hate him.

He also beat the world's most dangerous man Ken Shamrock 3 times into living death
I know Ken gets shit on for that all the time, rightly so. But am I the only one who thought the "living death" thing was kinda cool? It made no sense, we all knew Ken was dumb as fuck. But it was so WWF. If Ken would have won, everyone would think it was awesome. Or maybe not.

Definitely, he probably would have beat shogun in 2009-2011 when it might have meant something too

Tito is one of the grandfathers of trash talk in mma

I think his wins were better than Tito's. Beating Rampage, Lyoto, Lil Nog, Arona, Overeem, Forrest, and Chuck isvery impressive
I don’t think Tito would’ve beaten the Dan Henderson that Shogun put on a timeless classic of a fight with, either.

Tito is one of the grandfathers of trash talk in mma
I don't know what you remember, but he was just as incoherent and retarded back then as he is now. His best moment was just laughing at Ken at the press conference where he didn't say anything.

Tito was very good for many years.

Victor Belfort, Ryan Bader, Forrest Griffith, Guy Mezger, Wanderlei Silva, Yuki Kondo, Evan Tanner, Vlad Matyushenko

I’m an older fan who literally watched the very first UFC with my dad at my house as a kid. But Tito is the guy that got me back into the sport as a young adult. His rivalry with Ken Shamrock. Unfortunately most of the fans today never really saw him compete in his prime. They just focus on the stupid shit that comes out of his mouth in recent years, or how Dana White always slams him. But he had a really solid overall legacy years ago.

Tito and Ken shamrock literally saved North American mma during the dark ages. They were the biggest ppv draws around.
UFC 40 was historically the first event that showed that the sport could possibly hit the heights of mainstream. It was the first one that got some decent coverage from the media.

He was a monster for his era but he was never the best LHW in the world. I appreciate him for building the LHW division. He's such an important part in UFC history.
He definitely was never the best lightheavy weight of his time, but in truth, neither was Chuck.

Chuck made a shit load of money and got super famous benefiting off a time in the sport in which a number of all time great light heavy weights were fighting in Japan. Does anybody thinks any version of him could ever beat a prime rampage Jackson? I sure don’t..
