That movie had such promise, I wish Clint just acted in it and let someone else direct it.

The concept of Clint Eastwood at a basement party with teenagers is a pretty funny and it's cool to see it play out. There's a good amount of character development and rapport building going on too. I also like how nobody makes it a big deal that he is there. Plus Toad reminds me of a friend I have.

old man trying to teach a young man how to fish, so that he eats every day of his life.

I approve

I have no idea why people seem to like this movie. When i watched it years ago, i found it corny and cliched. I was shocked and disappointed at how predictable it was.

I thought that Hmong kid's acting was terrible.

I never knew about the Hmong until I saw this movie. I went to Hmong villages in Northern Vietnam and they were a very interesting people. Super nice and down to earth. What I found unrealistic about the movie is how much Eastwood character likes the food. I like it, but if it's legit Hmong food, I think it might be too spicy/weird for a white guy from the midwest.

People loved this when it came out, but it felt dated really quickly. Rewatched it recently, a lot of scenes were pretty on the nose.

Recently I watched high plains drifter which is directed by Clint.

That movie is weird, the hero of the film rapes a chick out of nowhere, and later in the Film she falls in love with him, seemingly because he’s an alpha / badass. The whole rape thing goes unresolved and he rides off into the sunset like a hero at the end of the film.

I guess he was trying to create a complex anti hero kind of character, but it felt like he was celebrated as a hero by the end of the film. Didnt really work, was strange and kind of ruined the film imo.
