Thoughts on no weight limit for Lesnar/Hunt?

If Hunt is still doing his vegan thing then I don't think he will be over the 265 limit, but other than that I don't see a reason not to.

It was a catchweight bout, and both fighters were under under the 265lb limit.
It was over the maximum weight for women in the UFC. It's the equivalent to a SHW fight for men.

screw it, Brock got a special dispensation from USADA anyway, just make it no weight limit, all drugs welcome

The UFC cares about some arbitrary weight limit for some reason. No weight limit would make for a better fight here imo

No. Having a weight limit makes Hunt a much better fighter. He'd be even better if he actually got into shape.

Dude some guys would be pretty unfair if you could have no limit.

Bigfoot can carry a legit 300+ on his frame

That's a misleading photo, pre pituitary surgery Bigfoot.

The limit for all fighters is 265. This is to prevent giant unskilled freakshow fights... think Sapp vs Akebono.

The women don't automatically become giant unskilled monsters past 135. It seems like you're angry that Cyborg was able to fight and I don't know what to say to that. Sorry? Perhaps there's a mirror universe where Cyborg didn't fight at 140 in the UFC, and you're happier there. I dunno man. I enjoyed her fight. Sorry?

If people come in fat and still win, why shouldn't they be allowed to do so?

If people come in fat and lose because of it, it's self correcting.

What is this nonsense that fighters should be forced to come in with a certain %age of body fat? This is combat sports not male modelling.

They should do it. Weight cutting is for those who want to avoid fighting the biggest men. It shouldn't apply to the HW division.

Why bother having any fucking rules at all, including drug testing ?

Why do people insist on such inane ideas ?

because it would be entertaining? not sure what reason you watch

They definitely could just make it a SHW fight. A division doesn't need to exist in the UFC for that to happen.

There's a few reasons I can think of why they might not want to do that. First is that the "Heavyweight" name has respect, whereas SHW makes people think of fatties. Second is if Lesnar wins and wants to do another fight, it could be a title shot, and that'd need to be at HW, and a win over Hunt at HW makes that more legitimate to some fans. Third is that making the fight at 265 will force Hunt to get into shape; he has the option of being lazy if he doesn't have to weigh under a limit.

There should not be a weight limit for heavyweights anyway. It's ridiculous.

I have no idea how a weight ceiling got implemented for hw, its retarded

What you wrote here has nothing to do with what I was saying. You are aware that the UFC wouldn't be forced to sign Akebono right? I used Cyborg as an example that the UFC has used other weight classes setting the precedent for a SHW fight but for some reason you think I am mad about Cyborg. Your issue is you wan to be a smart ass with your mirror universe instead of actually reading what I wrote.

I still think that they should implement 235 and have an uncapped HW division, and all fighters should be forced to fight at their natural weight.

lol @ not just drugs allowed, but welcomed! like, they thank you for every drug your on!

I agree about the uncapped HW division. But a 235 division is a bad idea. 235 and HW would both be extremely thin.

HW would be thin, 235 would pick up a bunch of fighters from LHW since eliminating weight cutting would force a lot of fighters from all divisions to move up

And the reasoning they don't want Akebono is because he is a freakshow fighter. A sideshow attraction.

Are you saying all women over 135 are just unskilled lumbering beasts?
