I always wondered when watching that match if there was a time in pro wrestling history a ref/doctor stopped a match for blood loss. The blood was soaked all over the ring.

Not sure it counts, but Balor vs Samoa Joe was stopped because of a cut on Joe's head in NXT. It wasn't even that bad.

Usually they would just rush the finish.
