Can vouch for this in the NHS, I’ve had 3 diversity courses in the past 12 months that have dealt with how to best care for people from diverse cultures/religious beliefs but none mandated for helping people with disabilities (despite the fact we encounter people with a wide range of disabilities far more often)

America only sees color, there is no progress without regress. If we help the disabled, that brings us closer, not divided. There is no progress to be made there.

This is how people with autism are treated in America, not just in college.

I get that in some parts of the world children born with with a developmental illness might simply be discarded but Autistic people, not just kids, get shit on in the US.

It's sad to see and if you defend someone who's a little odd you'll become a target too.

I would have berated the hell out of the female claiming this and implied that she was in fact bigoted against people with special needs, racist because he is a person of color, etc.

Then I would have signed my suspension paperwork when my audio was reviewed...
