They Live log.

Finally!

Every time I saw the name of your log I thought "They Live" and then realized. "aw, no... it's 'The Live.'"
i am glad you like it. Keosawa gave me the idea a couple pages back. i didn't even notice the two titles looked alike.

Darling,

1. Didn't you pull 405 recently?

2. The log name change was an excellent choice.

3. Speaking of excellence, your breakfast is probably fantastic.

1.) yes, however i am fixing some form issues. i should be back and above 405 within the next month or so.

2.) thanks.

3.) it's great,i love how i can get my eggs out perfectly. it looks professional. i need to buy some bacon however.

stretching and foam rolling( i made one.)

I've started a new warm up routine. it worked pretty well.

odd snatch thingy.
135 lbs x 5

power snatch
135 x 3
155x3
2 sets of 175x3.
185 x 0. i know i can do it, i just seem to have bad timing or form. it's something that should be easily fixable. when i go out to squat later I'll take a video.

snatch deadlifts
225 x 2

"They Live" is also the name and title track of the second album of the super-awesome crossover group Evil Nine:

And just to show you exactly how awesome your new favourite band is:

Note that MIDMO would approve- it has cowbell!

PWR1987 or whatever the number combination does almost all of his squatting from the bottom position and he's made some good progress. Check his log out. Not sure if he's still updating it though.

I'll listen in a sec to em jaunty.

thanks for telling me. I'll check it out.

power snatch form check.

Not form check related, but I think logs are so much cooler with videos. I wish mine had more.

smart phones rock eh ?

it seems like PWR can get 303 lbs up from the bottom. i am pretty close to that, i've done 275. although iam not all the way at the bottom. i feel like my knee is going to blow sometimes. i am trying to figure out ways to raise the stands.

cement them down onto cinder-blocks ? yup, that's all i got.

off-topic?: scarlette johansson's latest "photo-shoot" is wonderful. that's how you take an ass shot ladies.

I agree. Scarlette got a great body. Thank you "mysterious hollywood hacker"

I dont know shit bout the power snatch, but you look alpha for a 17 year old. Out of curiosity are you born in 93 or 94?

January of 94.

EDIT: i did some push pressing. i worked up to 215, my mid to lower back feels like ass though. i kept leaning forward so i said "fuck it".

now then onto more important matters. i am obsessing over dimas's power clean.

i am hoping i can find something in there to help mine. I've noticed a few things, i think i will practice with 135 lbs later on.

Comments on the video:

1. Your back rounded out a little. Make sure those lats are engaged and the shoulder blades are tucked in tight.

2. Get some hip contact on the bar. It looked like the bar floated a little in front of you.

3. It looked like you muscled that up a little with your arms. Use you hip to power it up, keep you chest up (I like to run this phrase in my head over and over again "big chest, big chest"), big shrug, your arms shouldn't muscle the bar up.

To sum up, back straight, lats engaged, hip contact, big chest, less arms, more hips.

I'll keep those things in mind moose.

warming up currently. stacking some plates and doing some "explosive push ups". i got 8 stacked up some standard some Olympic. decent sized stack, i am able to clap before hands hit the plates.

i got 11 stacked up. i am feeling warmed up. i am now moving onto the power snatch.

135 lbs on the power snatch. i am not too sure how many reps i did.it was just form work however.

powerclean

i worked up to 205 lbs. i forgot how many reps once again Lol. my catch sucked ass today. actually to be honest my whole power clean sucked today. shit happens however.

Slight elbow injury. I am going to take a few days off from. Heavuy lifting.

Bodyweight update. I am a mcfatty. I weigh 193. Lbs.

I also forgot, my oly coaches always remind me to start slow off the flow then pick up speed and explode at the hips. Starting fast can mess up your form.

i was just about to go out and practice. i just made some homemade bumpers. i will try starting off slower.

I have some videos by the former US Olympic weightlifting team coach, Jim Schmitz, and he says exactly the same thing: squeeze off the ground, accelerate and then explode at the hips. I find this makes a big difference to my power cleans.

it does make a difference. although on the snatch i hated starting slow. it's something i will have to get used to though.

I've been working on my power snatch form with just the bar. that's about all today.

I know some of the olympic lifting folks will disagree with Rip's way of teaching the lift but, regardless, I think you may find this video helpful for your power snatch. He really simplifies things for you.

i'll check it out while i down my 50 chicken mcnuggets.

don't judge me monkey! ten points to whoever gets this reference.
