There was nothing questionable about the Lawler/Koscheck stoppage

I didnt think kos was out and it should have been allowed to go on for a few more seconds just to be sure

that's not how it works. a ref doesn't see like 6-8 heavy punches to someone and say to themselves "lets see how he handles a few more."

kos was not defending himself. yes he wasn't knocked out cold, but he wasn't defending himself. he was laying there getting punched in the face. fight over. good call by the ref.

No, since I'm assuming you don't know how to use the next page function, trust me when I say it's just you.

You dont intelligently defend yourself by letting your opponent punch you in the face.

The only thing that could have saved Josh is if Robbie threw a knee illegally so he could get a DQ win.

He wasn't intelligently defending himself, he was just laying there. If he would have reacted to those punches more than it might not have been stopped appropriately.

I would simply be intimidated of Robbie because I know he can beat me up.. And I am 225 and have trained lol

BUt we should not forget that Kos had SERIOUS health problems from getting jis orbit all smashed up in the GSP fight.. After something like that your body can just say "we arent going through that again" and sut down if you start getting punched.

True, but, the Hendricks fight was even closer in time to Kos' reconstructive surgery with GSP, and Kos didn't strike me as being intimidated by Hendrick's power.

But like you alluded to, EVERYONE should be scared of Lawler :) I can't fault Kos for that!

Could have allowed lawler a little more time to make it decisive...instead koscheck got up perfectly fine

It wasn't the best stoppage in the world, but I love watching Kos lose so I'm not complaining. He was just laying there not trying to get up, Herb saved him from unnecessary punishment.

I imagine plenty of people think it was early though.... there were people who legitimately claimed the Paulo Thiago KO in which Kos fell limply to the ground with his eyes rolled back in his head was an early stoppage just because his legs flailed in Paulo's general direction. So I'd imagine people aren't happy with this one considering his arms were at least still up trying to block the shots

Rosenthal disagrees

kos wasn't coming back. he was pinned against the cage and lawler was raining down punches at full strength. i think dean should of maybe allowed two more strikes, but it wouldn't have mattered. people are saying it was a premature stoppage due to kos going for guard once dean stopped the fight. there wouldn't have been that much room for kos to get his guard unless dean had stepped in and pulled lawler off.

kos was done!

When watching the fight I thought it was stopped too early and thought so as soon as it was stopped. With watching the gif posted in the first of this thread, I am more sure than before that it was stopped early. Josh was fine. He wasn't out of it. No reason for a stoppage at that point.

I'm just mad I forgot to put vcash down on this fight. I thought Kos was gonna be stupid and try to stand with Robby especially because of his comments earlier this week

Koscheck was out. His eyes got glassy, he wasn't protecting himself and Lawler was landing his shots. Herb Dean gave him all the time he needed.

The only reason this stoppage is controversial is because of Rogan's comments. Have some confidence in your eyes and don't take everything he says for a fact.

Have your eyes checked, his eyes were not "glassy". I'm not gona say the stoppage was good or bad, but its easy to see enough discrepancy to understand the controversy.

robbie is so scary. His power is ridiculous. He has a chance against anybody in that division as long as he can keep it standing. He has had some terrible fights, ie: Jake Shields and Babalu but he has also had some ridiculous ko's. I hope he wins his next fight and then fights a title contender, he is legit.

Funny how you're the only one that could tell his eyes were glassy.

I actually saw the same thing, but I came in here to tell TS he was wrong about the "not up for debate" part of his thread title. Stupid on both your parts, really.
