The WORLD WIDE WEIRD Thread

Keep doing the peoples' work, muster.

Great thread. Thanks to the contributors. Cheers.

I should have mentioned, for anyone who actually went to Video Scramble, there are other video mixtapes, if you search for them on the appropriate sites. Retard-O-Tron 1 & 2 are pretty good ones.

This one is bothersome in several ways. I have tried to navigate the page to its depths but I always get lost. It appears to be a website made by a person or persons about satanic worship, or the Illuminati or some combination of that plus religion, demonology, and numerology.

The text and message is often so convoluted that it appears as if there are riddles or messages hidden within the text and numbers. What is the most troubling is the immense size of the page. A person would have to spend a huge number of hours to make it. I have no idea how far it goes or even what the overall message of the site is.

Sometimes in the dark corners of the internet we encounter crazy, this may be one such instance.

Yeah that's definitely odd

I looked at that satanic one extensively last night. After a while it just started hurting my eyes, reading through all that crap. I really didn't get the point.

Its difficult to tell. He is obsessed with the number 9. If you go deep enough into the site you start getting walls of text and excerpts from famous literature, religious tomes, etc. He quotes the Bible, but at the same time he makes Illuminati symbols out of the text like pyramids. He also has a alot of demonic looking artwork, but then will turn around and quote Gandhi. The sheer size of it is incredible.

I was looking at it on my iPad and it allowed me to look at it page by page.

Seemed to me like someone who'd gone off the deep end. It wasn't just nine, it was also seven and three they were obsessed with, along with a and z.

The internet has given some people the opportunity to put their psychosis on full display. This guy on 4chan was posting that if anyone could guess their post number he would give the coordinates to where the body of a missing girl was buried. Come to find out, that shit happened and she was buried there.

Anyone remember the John Titor time travel ordeal?

http://www.anomalies.net/original-john-titor-posts-post2post-art-bell-forum-part-1/

I remember reading that forum with the original posts in high school and it was pretty interesting.

Also there's a site, maybe on 4chan or something where guys that are virgins all get together and basically shit on the world. They refer to alpha males as Chad Thundercocks and women as Succubi. I read it a long time ago and it was pretty interesting to see their utter disdain for anything mainstream or what most people would consider normal.

Good one. I remember seeing these Titor posts from years ago. Its pretty remarkable that its still around. He started posting in 2001. There are still obscure web sites devoted to the John Titor incident. One of the things he did was to post pictures of his time traveller manual.

I came across this web site which has archived pages of various forums across the internet. I'll provide a link to the site so you can try others if you like. I checked just for fun to see if it had anything for Sherdog and it did.

This first one is the Sherdog entrance, snapshot on May 11, 2000

Then on November 9, 2000, Sherdog changed to this format.

Then June 1, 2001, they changed to this format.

Then on March 19, 2004, the site began to take on a more familiar look

If you want to check other sites this archive is pretty cool.

This is called the Zooniverse. Basically people help do research for various projects. I chose "Galaxy Zoo" and hit get started to check it out. Basically they were showing me pics of distant galaxies taken by the Hubble. They would ask me is it a round galaxy, is it a spiral galaxy, etc. They might ask, is there anything unusual in the pic? This will supposedly help scientists and scholars with their work because there are thousands and thousands of uncatalogued pictures.

Some of you might really like this site, I bookmarked it for my own use so I could check out the other projects.

What made this noteworthy? I read a bit of it and it pretty much just sounds like some guy saying "I'm a time traveler. No, Really!"

Its not that its true or not, he is obviously not a time traveler. He is, however, probably the most famous to claim to be a time traveler in the history of the internet. Almost 15 years later and people still have websites about John Titor. It just fits in good with the idea of the thread. People want to believe in these things. In terms of "internet crazy" there is much worse than the Titor believers. They also believe he made predictions about the future.

Welcome to RecordSetter, where world records can be set by anyone. Do you want to see the most Twinkies eaten in one sitting? The most pushups done while balancing on 2 skateboards? Maybe the longest time balancing a deck of cards on the forehead? Then go to the link below and watch people being great at weird things.

You can then plan and record yourself breaking those records if you like. Anyone can participate and you can even make up your own record and then record it and send it. In fact they encourage you to figure out what you might be great at and record yourself. It just needs to be breakable, and it must be countable or quantifiable. (Must be able to count it or measure it.)
