Calling the original Star Wars overrated is just that idiotic. That's not my fault, buddeh.

Not really. It is completely overrated as a film. As a revolutionary trend setter, probably not. As a film though, it's kind of shit.

As is, without all of the hoopla that surrounds it, it's not such hot shit. Compare it to another trend setting film like "Jaws". "Jaws" is a damn good film regardless of what it represented. The original Star Wars...Episode 4...meh. It's not that great. It's kind of lame and boring, actually.

Just got to NOLA, btw Mississippi is fucking insane. I've never heard thicker accents anywhere in the state.

Was gifted VIP krewe passes to Jazzfest though!

My fuck, Donald Trump has literally driven Bill Maher insane.

This is now the fourth or fifth week in a row, where Bill has envisioned a scenario where Donald Trump is impeached and voted out by congress, and instead of leaving, he barricades the Oval Office, and literally fights against it. Like getting the secret service and the army to protect him and fight against it.

He's lost his damn mind, and is completely delusional. This old dude should have had a family, instead of gorging himself on politics and weed all his life. It's coming to a head, and I don't envision a good end for him. He's really losing it.

I feel bad for the people who weren't young/dumb enough to believe the shit Pro-Wrestling was slinging at the time.

I remember thinking "Parts Unknown" was actually some mystical place, where they got The Ultimate Warrior from.

Haha that's great.

I think Waig's positions on film and politics generally suck, but he has a point about the original Star Wars films in general, insofar as they may not be bad but would almost have to be underrated because of how important the visuals and effects were to their original appeal.

With that said, IIRC, the first Star Wars movie had the least shitty plot of the entire first or second string of films.

I really just can't get through any of them, though. From what I've been told and what I can tell, Rogue One would be the on that I'd be most amenable to.

Empire strikes back had the best plot imo, i mean the evoke stuff was just a few steps short of jar jar blinks, and Star Wars was comparatively wooden. Empire had more time to develope the characters and a real dark side to it.

I think you are clearly forgetting...

Watching now, thanks for the reminder. Maher appears to be aging faster these days.

I know this is the Off-Topic i.e. non-politics thread, but just normatively I gotta admit that I am continually impressed with James Comey and his candor. I was really critical of the guy before, but he has really impressed me over with his interviews of late. Just astoundingly poised and self-aware in scrutinizing his past decision making and acknowledging disagreeing viewpoints and trying to communicate his thought processes.

If the Republican Party ever returns to relative normalcy, this guy has all the makings of a future president.

Mr Ghandi, nothing is deeper than The Nexus. Meditate abstractly as your cortex gapes to it's peripheral existence. Make sure to moisturize, The fluids are sensitive when lost, equilibrium is optimal to engage in life's archaic meaning...
