Can’t say I was expecting that. The timing too is pretty amazing.



Though I wouldn’t want people trying to “bank” their reward/ punishment, there is usually a reasonable amount of time they have to issue the sig or ab and start around that time. I think we also put “tentative” for the date since it wasn’t clear how fast we’d know the results. I know he isn’t being polite about it but just my two cents in terms of the thread officiating.

What odds would you put surplus for 2028 at? I can’t really imagine the current climate leading to a balanced budget. No public support in cutting the major programs (maybe military?) and it’s not like GOP is going to do a tax plan with a focus on raising revenues. Maybe SALT permanent removal or something but this is all in context of getting to a fiscal surplus.

No idea. Plus with all the proposed tax cuts and/or eliminating certain taxes. Will have to see if his planned tariff plans along with energy plans. Combined with what Doge might do. Will be interesting

How the hell did Oregon get roped into this lol Weird bet generally. Even if you think Trump is likely to win (looking like a true tossup at this point), he's not winning any of those states or coming close in NY.

If it is brought up and confirmed someone isn’t upholding their end of the bargain, they are removed from rankings and normally are criticized for welching on their bet. Let me know if you update back to the punishment since there’s still a little over a month remaining. If I’m missing a detail here too, let me know.
