I am just trying to be helpful here. In reality, out of course, there is an established definition of war in political science. Usually, war is defined as an armed conflict that exceeds 1000 battle- related deaths. If you want to adopt that definition, I think the bet will become more transparent. Of course, that bet I would not take.

Definitions are always negotiable if they need to be, but I think people would do better just to take the bet at face value according to common sense, rather than enter a negotiation with me.

Then you get into the slippery slope of things like embargoes. Technically, lots of thing the US does are acts of war. Yet everyone is relieved that the US didn't "go to war" with Iran.

Oh, I'm definitely still in. I'll take Joe Biden is the dem nominee vs any other outcome for a 30-day sig bet. This was determined long ago in my eyes.

The bet was supposed to be about the direction of US foreign policy. My contention is that President Bernard Sanders would make major changes to US foreign policy. Make me an offer.

One example is the number of bases abroad, which you declined. Another example is Sanders's stance on foreign aid to Israel. I predict that President Sanders would pressure Congress to tie US aid to Israel to specific concessions for the Palestinian people. For example, Sanders might threaten to veto a spending bill that did not tie US aid to Israel to specific humanitarian aid (e.g., food, medicine) for the Palestinian people.
