Would you approve of Trump using emergency powers to build his wall?

I don't understand why the Democrats can't see this as a huge problem for the country? How is it NOT a crisis? People from many countries around the world are trying to get into America illegally.
The fact that the Dems don't give a shit and are ignoring the stats and what this border guard related, really shows why they don't want a wall.

Ignoring the stats? How is it not a crisis?
1. You should know there isn't a national security crisis because if there were, Sanders and team Trump wouldn't have tried to pretend like the 6 non US citizens on the terror database who were detained at the southern border were 4,000 (and for reference 41 non US citizens were stopped by CBP at the Northern Border) in the 1st half of 2018.

2.You should know there isn't a national security crisis because if there were, Pence would have to make up the lie that we "apprehend 10 suspected terrorists at the southern border a day". But hey if you are going lie, why round 6 up to 10 when you can round up to 1,800?

Yes, walls tend to work, as the southern border already has some walls in operation that are not about to be removed.

Putting a wall from sea to shinning sea is also not feasible.

This is -the- important left/right totem though of the moment, so a lot of partisan energy must be exploded all over each other in an effort to obtain a big win of some kind or another.

The one thing I have always seen in the wall is permanence, if erected, it is hard to just "tear it down!" for the ultra-modern notion of insipid open border activism. I'm in favor of more hard obstacle barriers on the southern border for that reason, but a "national emergency" is a stupid idea from a generally bungling Chief Executive.

There are well funded and organized caravans invading our country. It is a soft war against the USA perpetrated by globalist oligarchs.

It is an emergency.

Interesting.

I still want better border security.
No one has been against better border security.

Trumps WALL was the problem as it would spend an enormous amount of money on one small area of need while taking focus off the more important ones where about 70% of the problems cross, and when he was offered $25B for integrated border security by a bipartisan agreement, he rejected it.

Odd considering they agreed to the wall before. It's almost like you are lying.

They agreed and voted for the Secure Fencing Act of 2006, not a thousands of miles tariff steel or concrete wall, seizing massive tracts of land from American citizens and businesses and ceding land to Mexico while doing nothing to address the larger facets on the issue of immigration.

Exactly, this is not a border security issue, it is a political issue, and Trump is beholden to people who want to deport DACA beneficiaries, despite his bullshit today about a DACA for wall swap being on the table and the Dems obstructing (Pence just said on Thursday that Trump was waiting on the SCOTUS to rule, believing that DACA will be ruled to be unconstitutional), when he changed his mind about that deal last year, and when he changed his mind last month, both because of the shit he was getting from right wing idealists. Trump has no beliefs, he has no spine, he can't make a decision and has allowed the country to be pulled into a "Mexican standoff" between him, Coulter/Breitbart, McConnell/ most GOP senators, and Pelosi/Schumer.

And beyond even that, Trump hasn't even committed like 40% of the $1.6 billion he was given in the last fiscal year for border security, and has only actually spent like 6% of that $1.6 billion.

It puts the lie to Trumps now position this is an emergency.

If its an emergency then why has Trump been sitting on funds he could have been spending on a fence already? Answer is because he never wanted a fence. He intended to replace all of the current fence with the giant concrete wall. So he cannot now say "i need to appropriate funds in an emergency to build a fence'. If challenged in court (which his emergency would be) he would lose on that alone.

Never been to a non white country have you. Its not some kind of anti white hell

Went to plenty of places in the military. Korea and Japan stood out. In a morally repugnant way, they kept their countries for Koreans and Japanese, wouldn't you say?

That's cool but stop pretending it will do anything to stop drugs like hannity and co keep claiming.

It ain't stop illegal immigrants either just force them to pay smugglers and be more dangerous hiding in sealed cushions and shit like they do for human trafficking

TLDR: People in El chapo trial say drugs are smuggled through ports via car, boat etc and some tunnels , not areas of open border

https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/12/us/drug-traffickers-el-chapo-trial-drugs-across-border/index.html

Drugs are being smuggled in any conceivable or possible way. All of those are true but they do it through open borders as well.

Believe it or not there are fences installed now. Catapults are used to sling huge amounts of drugs. Ramps are built to jump the fence with vehicles, mules, submarines, tunnels... Any and every way.

But EWIs generally go around the ports of entry. Not saying a fence will be all/end all but more needs to be done on the southern border in my opinion.

And Trump did promise a wall... And hes trying to make good on that promise. If we didnt hear anything about a wall during his campaign speech it might be one thing... But that was his go to- the wall. So got to give him some credit on trying to make it happen.

So why didn't he try harder to make it happen first the first two years?

They may go through open borders in some small instances but el chapo was one of the biggest if not the biggest and they are saying on trial it all went through legal ports and tunnels
