I did not realize support for the wall was so high among republicans-- I must have confused people on the right being against the shutdown with support for the wall.

Who benefits from illegals? Trump's NJ club fired its illegals two weeks ago after employing some for over 15 years only after the MSM pointed out that they were working there. The rich benefit from illegals regardless of party. Sadly, Trump's brilliant son didn't have the good sense to have his HR department check the citizenship of the company employees even though his father is so fervently anti-illegal.immigration.

The rest of the media was in lock step because Trump was lying over and over again about the wall. He lied about why we need it and lied about what it would do. They covered it appropriately.

We will be speding 1.3 measly billion on a wall that Border Patrol said will help them do their job. I think it's absurd we give over 3 billion/year to little ol Israel in military "aid" but we can't fund our own wall. Isreal got their wall, get free billions of dollars from us.

And Democrats got a big fat BANANA in return. No DACA, no agreement on family separation, etc....

Maybe, but everybody came out looking bad for different reasons. Trump couldn't deliver on one of his main campaign promises and dawdled when he probably could have gotten it done, but it has called to attention the dems' support for illegal immigration and disdain for border security.

Sad thing is that Trump had his Wall money, $25 billion, prior to the government shutdown and agreed to sign the spending but then his real advisors, Hannity and the like killed it because of DACA.
