He didn't even have a first plan.

yes he did. <Varys01>

It failed.

Now he's going to try something else.

Not all that difficult to comprehend, you know. {<hhh]

bad strategy from the get go

he should have just pushed it through, everyone would have forgotten by now

2020 is still a long way off, though.

Everyone would still have forgotten this by then anyway.

The key is going to be how the Economy is by then. If it's still going strong, his chances are pretty solid.

If it takes a nose-dive, adios.

For all the goobers celebrating. .we agree this is just for 3 weeks right? And he was very clear we'd have another shutdown or national emergency if there wasn't wall funding at that point ...right?
Lol wasn't he very clear when he refused to fund the government through February a month ago that the government wouldn't re-open without 5 billion for his wall? So, what has he accomplished in that month of the government being shutdown other than losing horribly to President Pelosi?

When you read Trump's tweet and then Sanders tweet, you get the message that Trump WILL go the Executive-Order / Emergency Power-whatever route. That's what it seems like to me.

Y'all Trumpers should start calling Nancy Grandma now with the way she son'd y'all Daddy!

I say you're delusional in thinking that Pelosi had anything to do with Trump's decision.
She told him NO , when he offered to extend DACA in exchange for the Wall funding. She wasn't the sole reason, but she did play a big part.

I think it’s incredibly unlikely. Trump tapped out of this fight now because of the exponentially increasing pressure that a long shutdown entails. It accomplished nothing more than a blow to his approval ratings, making Nancy look stronger than him, and a humiliating day on the internet with him getting it from liberals and conservatives.

I think the absolute last place Trump will go is back into the same situation.

For the SOTU, where at least for an hour, everyone dances to his tune.

He's likely not only going back to his old rhetoric, but surpassing it. Stupid people don't know when to stop.

That kind of proves Trump's point in that the Democrats would rather he fail in his bid for a Wall than compromise to get DACA which was what they've wanted. <Y2JSmirk>

Pelosi just proved her goal and the Democrats goal is OBSTRUCTION, Period.

And I guarantee that's exactly what Trump will bring up when the SOTU happens.

His first plan was to wait until dems took the house and shut down the government?

Dont think I believe that.

Trump didnt offer to give them anything. He got slapped by the courts on DACA and thought the dems weren't paying attention. He is a buffoon. At best.

No. His plan was to force the Dems to the Bargaining table for Wall Funding.

The plan failed.

Are you purposely being obtuse here? <1>

Yes he did.

Offered DACA in exchange for Wall Funding.

Pelosi refused, thus proving his point about Dems only concerned with obstructing him above everything else.

Even your fellow Liberal (Microbrew) confirms it.

Stop being a dick.

Wrong as always...

Had he proposed permanent funding for Daca...the bill he defunded in the first place...democrats would have humored the idea but no, none of this temporary shit.

When your party shuts the government down because they don't get their way for once, you can't bitch about others being obstructionist

That's plan A? So nothing for the first couple years and now we expect multiple simultaneous plans? Doesn't seem likely.

Trump's balls are in a jar on Pelosi's desk, Pelosi took over the Presidency today and ended the shut down and will be deciding what sort of additional border measures get passed.

This thread is dead and meaningless now, everything has been resolved as it was expected to.

He looks bad in backing down.

We will see if he can turn this so the next shutdown in 21 days can be shown to be the democrates and how long he can hold out.

Maybe they can go for a new record of at least 60 days.

Please stop talking about daca. You have no idea what you are talking about. daca is renewable every two years. trumps plan is only a one time thing and costs twice as much.
