The UFC is oversaturated with mediocrity.

I never understand that. Now we still get many one stacked card every month, but get other cards with a good main event in between.

People who just want to watch stacked cards literally can. There's nothing stopping them, just watch the numbered events and big fight nights and avoid the filler events.

People wouldn't be adding.anything by having a stacked card every month, they would just be taking other events away from people who want to watch.

What u don't understand is that your definition of "stacked" is very different to ours. By our definition, there's 1 stacked card per year now.

Your definition of stacked never existed in the UFC though. Only at pride new years eve events.

I completely agree, I'd rather have half the events if the cards were stacked like yesteryear.

I have this conversation a lot.

@HuskySamoan can vouch

It would probably be somewhere in between. Have two less pay-per-views per year and then cut the ESPN plus cards in half

That alone would add 2 or 3 great fights to each ppv and you could still keep the regular cable ESPN cards solid

The logic behind this is so dumb. You can just skip half the events. Boom problem solved

Fighters choose to sign the contracts.

Fans choose to watch the event.

I prefer the UFC is on every weekend. I look at the card, pick the fights I want to watch, and plan around them. If there's a fight I'm not interested in watching, I don't watch it. It's a really simple plan that's worked well for many years.

I don't have any emotional attachment with UFC having to be the biggest and most elite organization. I don't give a shit about their brand strength.

I prefer having fighters mostly consolidated under one promotion. It leaves out stupid "what if" cross promotion games. Unfortunately this makes for poor conditions for the fighters, so I support them unionizing or whatever.

I think the lack of big signings has been a bit of a let down the last couple of years. They've managed to pick up a lot of the better young prospects, but they seem to have stopped trying for the bigger names.

In 2020 they signed Jiri, Chandler, Kape and Gamrot all in the same year, who were all champions (or former champions) in other fairly major organisations and haven't really done that since.

They need to try harder in the free agent market in 2023. I believe Cooper, AJ and De Ridder might all be out of contract, those three would be a good start.

Telling other people what their definitions are so you don't have to re-evaluate your own.

I don't have to re-evaluate though. I've just been watching the UFC for years. When were these mythical stacked cards?

They're only mythical because you've deliberately chosen a definition of stacked that the people you're foisting it on don't actually use.

Well go on then. Show me your definition of a stacked card.

At the moment, you're still playing your stupid game of insisting other people are referring to cards so stacked they never existed instead of listening to how they actually define "stacked cards".

First, you have to go find old cards are are more stacked than current cards and that people complaining about watered-down cards could reasonably enjoy more than current cards. Once you put in that effort to stop being deliberately dense, I'll engage with you like you're intelligent and thoughtful.

Thought not. The sheer fucking irony of your posts is quite incredible.

PPVs are stacked? Insert “what year is it” gif. Last PPV shows how watered down even PPVs are. Good main event, that’s it. Rest is just mostly regional level filler fights. Sure, Bryce Ilia fight was not only good but also a ranked fighter fight, so but that’s it.

I wish it was as easy as just watching the PPVs to watch stacked cards, but that hasn’t been the case for years. I don’t understand why people are defending oversaturation of UFC events. If you want to watch regional level talent fight, then watch regional shows, there are multiple events every week. The UFC should cut everything in half and we’d start getting decently stacked cards, rest can fight in feeder leagues where they belong.

If you refuse to acknowledge the possibility that there have been ANY previous cards that could have been more preferable to people unhappy with current watered-down cards then you're clearly just talking shit. Don't start complaining when people refuse to engage your nonsense.
