Leon doesn't even want to fight him in the first place. They had to resort to blackmail. They are going to look like fools when he pulls out of the fight again next year.

Make the fight that you have while you have it. Leon will still be there next year if Khamzat fights Magny in two weeks. You could even skip Leon at that point and have him fight Masvidal or Colby. Right now none of those guys want to fight him because he isn't top 10 and hasn't fought anyone.

This Leon fight is a gamble they are taking to fast track him to a title...

They could do the Magny fight but if Magny wins... Khamzat loses his hype...

Better to wait for Leon

And there is no way in hell Colby or Masvidal accepts the fight against Khamzat...

I haven't fully read the OP, but it's not the UFC's job to manage Khamzat's career.

They can offer him fights and he says yay or nay. They'll ffer him fights that'll make them the most money while "making sense"

Isn't Magny higher profile than Edwards? I've seen Magny fight quite often. He seems to have more of a name than Edwards, who only gets mentioned derisively.
