Oh, I took it that Max had never lost a fight to someone who wasn't great. Which he actually hasn't (except for Bermudez)

To be fair he lost 3 straight split decision in his 4 fight losing streak but ironically won a split decision against maxhole and won 7 in a row at one point. Weird career for sure but I do agree he wasn't BMF caliber

Bermudez was damn good. A lot of split decisions losses and weak submission defense.
Good wrestling and striking though. Shouldn't have bulked so much, 145 wasn't a weight class at 5'6 anymore.

I remember thinking the scores were a bit of bs but going to rewatch it. BS meaning it wasn't as close as they had it. Good fight but I remember Holloway being a bit more dominant than the scorecards suggested.

Poirier went tooth and nail with both the LW champion and WW champion at the same time in his second to last fight. That is still pretty prime.

Before that he was in a war with BSD and before that even was a KO loss against Gaethje. What was left in his prime was beaten out by Islam.

Always going to be a good fight when you put these two together. I think even at the point of their second fight that Max was a little better than Dustin but Dustin's experience at LW was actually what edged it.
