Stopped watching Picard a few episodes ago. Never again, done with that heinous shitshow.

Rewatched a ST:TNG episode today, & I’m very much looking forward to the RLM Picard breakdown later tonight; & that is the extent of my Star Trek content intake these days: old rewatches, & RLM.

I am doing it right.

Why did the New Starfleet make worker androids with enough intelligence to conceive of revolt?

Why not just simpler robots that wouldn't present an easy conflict because the writing is lazy?
 
what the hell with the 9th episode
they just went full retard with the "orchids" capable of taking down a full size borg cube - dafuq

I like how romulans are all about secrecy and secret agencies - but they've got hundreds of ships now headed for direct conflict with borg and the federation

also I like how that chick gets a pass for killing maddox - guess murder is a-ok with picard in his retirement

cant wait to see how many more heads that romulan monk is going to chop off by the end of the 10th episode - so out of place in a future with laser weapons

Romulans are impoverished and have no agency... and also highly capable and industrious on an enormous scale.

Whatever the writers need them to be when they need them to be that way.

that genuinely seemed like some hippy bullshit lol

also dialogues are so poorly written in this show - none of character actions make much sense
the whole final gathering of those androids and dr soon and them deciding: "fuck it, lets be evil" had me wtf - what could they possibly do against whole systems of planets? this is on rise of the skywalker level stupid (the whole final order battlefleet emerging from fucking ice - where did they even find enough staff to fill out every one of those ships and how did they manage to keep it secret considering you cant even get to the planet without those 2 navigation orbs which are hard as fuck to get)

such a steady decline in quality of writing of tv shows/movies in hollywood - quality writing being replaced by CGI battle scenes which all resemble one another (ships in space fire different colored lasers, pew pew - you could replace star trek action scenes with star wars action scenes and half the people wouldnt even notice)

Lazy science fiction writing: it's the worst genre to abandon logic for script convenience. At this point it's hard to come to any other conclusion but that lazy writers don't want you to ask questions, they're writing around logic so that they can get to the next action beat. I honestly think they write action set-pieces or cool things they want to see, and build everything around it whether it makes sense or not.

They apparently don't care if it's just "Generic Scifi Show" loosely related to ST either.

For me it was like a punch in the stomach that they IMMEDIATELY made the threat a gigantic Borg cube.

Didn't bother past episode 2 but one positive of it would be the Red Letter Media reviews...



A prolonged mental breakdown were both men think there the shrink for the other.
 
I keep waiting for this show to turn it around but imo it just keeps getting worse. So much dumb shit.

Dr. Soong had a son! And he’s evil!
The Androids can do Vulcan mind melds!
The Androids can also go 0 to evil faster than Vin Diesel can go 0 to 60!
Dr. Jurati murdering Maddox has zero consequences with anyone! Picard will forgive her, and so will Dr. Soong Jr. and the androids!

This show is arguably worse than Discovery.
