I will not be subscribing to CBS All Access to watch season 2. I gave this show every chance, and overlooked many of its flaws, but I can't overlook how shitty that ending was to season 1.

btw episode 10 - fell asleep 3 times during it
such a clusterfuck of writing

things that annoyed me: characters move all about the place (from soong residence to borg cube to starship) as necessary by the plot, not as it makes any sense how they would move about the place without getting noticed by anyone (picard getting rescued and reaching ship without anyone noticing? how did he leave the premise? also soon being a genius yet dumb enough to get tricked)

borg cube was shown as this huge huge ship, yet everyone finds anyone in it within seconds of entering it lol

all of the characters are basically stupid - there are no super intelligent beings in this show, even the most advanced androids act like dumb fucks ("STOP! give me all your weapons! whats this ball you are carrying? oh thats just a toy! okay you can go thru" -suddenly it doesnt matter we can tell when someone is lying to us by his elevated heart rate and dilated pupils)

I thought they had 4 of those orchids left - suddenly 2 days later there is more of than 200 of them

bullshit "imagine the fix" repair tool (this is like writing from low budget sci fi shows from the 90s)

"It must have been love at first sight for Seven and Raffi because they probably spent about 30 seconds interacting with each other the entire series" (comment copied from twitter)

the most ridiculous thing was building of that beacon and that hot android chick having to play tetris for half an hour in order to activate it - bet she felt like an idiot acting that out, waving her hands in the air with "focused" face

also those tentacles that appear from the portal - werent menacing at all, didnt feel like a threat at all compared to what we have seen so far in the trek universe (and romulans + federation ignoring it while they had their stand off lol)

Oh giving the planet sterilization order about 5 times and being ignored each time cause we had to wait for Picard to move into place with this pointless flying

I watched it cause I liked TNG (and its reruns are still airing in my country daily so I get to watch it before going to sleep) and Voyager

thought would be cool seeing characters from both shows in a modern setting

I just watched till the last episode to see if it gets any better and how borg/Q would be portrayed (thought they would have had a bigger role in this series)

I do think the XB’s will have a big part to play in future episodes. As will Riker.

Yep. That finale was the nail in the coffin. CBS is absolutely hiring the wrong people to do these new Star Trek shows. I don't understand why they get enough ratings/subscriptions to continue. Too many drones that will slurp anything up I guess.

I mean I was actually happy when Picard died. I was thinking thank goodness that characters out of the show and maybe they will just carry on and name the ship Picard. We can finally let this character be done and not be ruined anymore

Remember in rise of Skywalker when C3PO was having on last look at his "friends"

all these random assholes being sad about picards not death is just as unfeeling and weird

Brent Spinner is probably refusing to play Data ever again because he knows that the writing of the character would not be in good hands. Star Trek is dead.

Great post, sums up a ton of my grievances for me. You can tell they did a lot of reshoots, it's very scattered

Where did that Raffi/7 lesbo thing come from? Same as Rios and Agnus, both right of nowhere.

Picard's death was so anticlimactic....he's back... and seemingly okay with it

It was like Burnham having multiple goodbye's in the final episode of Discovery season 2. Every crew member cried over her multiple times. Even poor Saru was on his deathbed crying over that bitch.

That scene with Picard and Data at the end was nice, but it had no weight. Was there a reason they couldn't transport his consciousness into another body?

I was so bored in the episode that I was in and out of dozing off. Why did they put Picard into an old man's body, without his blessing, who is still near its death? He's now just a copy, a skin job, and a frail one still. Who the fuck thought that was decent writing?

Did I miss some meaningful exposition?

Aside from being an almost beat for beat "homage" to the Mass Effect trilogy, they also borrow the terminology such as "synths" and "organics".
Kurtzman Trek has been a consistent target for claims of infringement but imo Picard is the most flagrant example of this. ST fanboys try to say Mass Effect borrowed from ST first. This may be true in terms of "themes" but Picard is a ripoff of the Mass Effect PLOT, which is never excusable.
The characters in this show are either completely forgettable (sisterboy, Rios) or outright unlikable (Raffi, Agnes). The returning characters act nothing like their old selves (Picard, 7 of 9, Hugh).
Without going into it too hard, this show is an obvious half assed attempt at cashing in on what little good will the series had left by bringing back a beloved character. However, all they did was bring back said beloved character just to drag him through doodoo.

No emotional impact to having all these new characters crying over Picard. If they wanted to tug at the heart strings have Riker and Troi weeping by his body, not Space Legolas, Wishes He Was Pedro Pascal, Scissors of Nine, Tilly 2.0 and Rafi (havent thought of a dumb nickname for her yet).
