Dana Gould did a very good job with the show tooWhen Conan O’Brien was writing for the Simpsons it was the funniest show on the planet.

I've never enjoyed a single moment of the simpsons, like I did the Tears of Unfathomable Sadness part of the South Park Scott Tenerman episode
my favorite animated show, probably alone on this, is The Life and Times of Tim from HBO
This clip alone is better than anything family guy has ever done. But you knew that.
This is how you do satire that is both funny and meaningful.
I can't dig the Simpsons either, I think that it and Seinfeld are criminally overrated which I'm sure will earn the ire of even more faithful fans. They're just not funny for me, and that sucks being two "significant" longstanding comedy shows that don't make me laugh. I'm >30, so I was raised during its heyday, but it never resonated with me whatsoever.
Lol yeah I'm 23.
Not a good TV show. At all. It was popular in it's prime because there were no other crude cartoon comedies out there. But can The Simpsons even be considered crude? It really isn't. Shows like Family Guy and American Dad are leaps and bounds better than The Simpsons. There was simply no comedies similar to compete with The Simpsons at that time.
When Family Guy gained steam and took over, it was pretty clear what show was better. American Dad isn't too far behind it. The Simpsons isn't even on anyways radar anymore. Does it even air? Who cares.
I'm ready to get flamed by the old fawks who refuse to believe The Simpsons isn't funny. Come at me.

The Family Guy didn't change culture, or television. The Simpsons did. It's why Family Guy is around.
I love words, but I don't need to use more than that. Case closed.

I think Mike Judge praised them too. Animation got real lazy under the Family Guy model.South park wouldn't be around either. South Park gave homage to the Simpsons but wrote an anti Family episode.

cartoon shows are for kids.
but srsly the first few seasons of Simpsons were brilliant. middle few seasons of South Park also were
awesome. the only thing I've ever really lol'd at during Family Guy is when he fights the chicken.
