The Simpsons Was Always Overrated as Hell.

haha, exactly.
for some reason, it was just so random and hit me the right way,
I was on the floor.

Not a good TV show. At all. It was popular in it's prime because there were no other crude cartoon comedies out there. But can The Simpsons even be considered crude? It really isn't. Shows like Family Guy and American Dad are leaps and bounds better than The Simpsons. There was simply no comedies similar to compete with The Simpsons at that time.

When Family Guy gained steam and took over, it was pretty clear what show was better. American Dad isn't too far behind it. The Simpsons isn't even on anyways radar anymore. Does it even air? Who cares.

I'm ready to get flamed by the old fawks who refuse to believe The Simpsons isn't funny. Come at me.

Guess how I know that you don't know shit about comedy, or comedy writing?

LOL @ listening to a 23 year old about anything. He should be demodded and banned immediately.

Have you watched any of the episodes from any of the prime seasons, 3-10? I already know you haven’t because if you had this thread wouldn’t exist.

<TrumpWrong1>

Family Guy was top notch shit for numerous seasons before everyone decided to become a hipster and shit on it. It was relevant and funny way longer than the simpsons was. American Dad is still relevant and well received to this day. Sorry bud, you're totally wrong here.

I've never enjoyed a single moment of the simpsons, like I did the Tears of Unfathomable Sadness part of the South Park Scott Tenerman episode

my favorite animated show, probably alone on this, is The Life and Times of Tim from HBO
Just when I thought that we couldn't possibly disagree more.

Family Guy was at it's best when it was losing steam and no one gave a fuck about it on Thursdays at 8 almost 15 years ago.

What Madmick said about the Simpsons importance isn't bullshit at all.

That's the single most blasphemous thing I've ever read on this forum.

The Simpson's has been an overrated piece of shit forever.

South Park is the GOAT comedy with Rick and Morty closing in. Family Guy and American Dad are solid. King of the Hill and Futurama next.

Family guy had what 3 maybe 4 good seasons? give me a break. Not to mention they ripped off the basic construct of the Simpson's. So go hang your head in shame for saying such blasphemy.

You are right that Family Guy ripped off a show, but it wasn't the Simpsons.

Family Guy ripped off a little unkown gem called The Critic. The whole pattern of cutting away to short and sometimes completely unrelated scenes and was used heavily in The Critic.

Funny enough, I was too young to realize this but I rewatched the series on Youtube a couple years back and it completely dawned on me that Family Guy took that pattern and ran with it.

I think ripped off is too harsh a word though and Family Guy amped up the college humor in its own way.

the simpsons is fucking hilarious.

its a shame that it ended after 10 seasons!

feel like they could've gotten 20-30 seasons with the quality of writers they had at the time!
