The Righteous Gemstones on HBO...

Weird Episode 5 was almost entirely a flashback to 1989 and they still didn’t show how Aimee-Leigh died. I also now have that stupid “Misbehavin’” song stuck in my head now.
 
I expected to hate the flashback episode since they can generally be hit or big miss and it takes you away from the main storyline, but that episode was gold. Uncle Baby Billy is the best. Is there anything Walton Goggins can't do? They guy is amazing in everything. Drama, comedy, it doesn't matter he knocks it out of the fucking park everytime. Even the casting of Aimee-Leigh and kids were perfect. Agree with @StewDogg11 can't get that damn song out of my head.

HBO needs to give Danny McBride and Jody Hill a blank check to keep pumping out great shows. 3 for 3 right now.

Also Jennifer Nettles who plays Aimee-Leigh is a part of the country group Sugarland and has always had legit pipes.
 
Man, I fucking love this show!
It's charming, clever, witty, and hilarious.

Terrific cast and top notch acting!
Probably one of the best shows I've seen in a very long time.
It's definitely a well written show.
Even as an atheist I think it's worth watching.
 
Show just keeps getting better and better. A lot of y’all are missing out. I predict Edi Patterson will be somewhat of a breakout star after this. She’s not really hot or anything but I still find myself oddly attracted to her for some reason.
 
I just binged this show over the last week and it's been great. Better than Vice Principals. I think it's on par with Eastbound and Down but they are different types of shows really. So some people will most like like one way better than the other depending on what they are looking for.

I loved all three but I'd rank Vice Principals top and Righteous Gemstones second.

My main issue with Vice Principals is I thought the first season was just ok. It wasn't that great and I really only continued to watch it because the first season ended great. The second season though was amazing. I was dying laughing so much it was great to see how they stepped it up during that second season.
 
Finished this show yesterday. It’s fucking great.

Definitely worth checking out
 
Bumping old thread because I just found out about this show and season 2 is coming in just over a week.

Finished the first season and I liked it. I guess Covid affected the production of season two because this thread is originally from 2019.

Just finished the first season of this show. Fucking hilarious.

This scene had me in tears. Full Lighting bolt through my slit.
 
The dude from the first season trying to blackmail McBride is fucking hilarious. The one in cahoots with his kid. Overall good show. East bound still the best by a landslide, but I think gemstones is better than vice principles.

I agree he had some good comedic timing.
 
HBO continues with the quality they are going to take over streaming they have better shows than netflix and amazon. Hbo max is the app I use like 75 percent of the time now. they got "hacks" which is also a funny show.

I watched the first season a while ago. Fantastic show.

Danny McBride on HBO is gold.

The ending of season 1 made the tears flow.
