Stefan Halper spied on the Trump campaign.
Fact.
I've also never heard an AG or prosecutor refer to an FBI informant as a "spy".

False. A Fox News and Trumpster lie. They had a FISA warrant for the wiretap, but it was a warrant acquired due to a dossier that was false and the product of his political opposition hiring a foreign spy to collect information from Russians. So...
It doesn’t matter what’s in the report. You don’t expect Democrat lawmakers go all in again on Trump do you? The media might, but the ones that went all in the past two years really got kicked in the balls the past two weeks and have shown that they can be taken for a ride as well. Furthermore the media has really been ground down and spit out over the past two years and haven’t really proven, as far as Trump allegations of wrong doing are concerned, to be that “fourth estate” they want to be.Weird to see all the trumpers celebrating here. I mean, it's expected that no matter what they would ride trump's balls. But given that even the redacted report lists actions that are clearly impeachable, I wasn't expecting such an autistic victory dance.
Even if you did, Mike would just deny it like the Dems and the Liberal Media deny the Truth that's in front of them.

The Russia investigation began after the FBI learned that George Papadopoulos had been approached by a Russian agent. The agent told Papadopoulos the Russians had incriminating information about Hillary Clinton, including emails. Papadopoulos then mentioned to an Australian diplomat that the Russians had "dirt" on Clinton, the Australians contacted the U.S. government, and the FBI began to take a look.
the Gang of 8 including Mitch McConnell authorized it.

It wasn't Barr's term. The congresswoman asked Barr if the federal government spied on the Trump campaign, as Trump himself alleged. Barr answered in the affirmative but said the spying might have been properly predicated.
spying clearly carries a connotation of illegality

I know the contents of even this redacted report have you triggered, but stay on topic.
? The US authorizes spying against foreign nations every day in accordance with US law.
Then you're quibbling over FISA and how easily it dishes out warrants (I agree)
How can anyone be "triggered".
SDNY is going to get shutdown next. Apparently the IG is going to go hard after Steele.
No. I think Trump himself chose the term because it's good politics to do so. I think the Democratic congresswoman, also for political reasons, asked Barr whether the federal government spied on the Trump campaign, and Barr answered yes but said the spying might have been properly predicated. So you think the choice of the administration to use the term "spying" is because it resembles what our intelligence agencies do on a daily basis?
