They had a FISA warrant for the wiretap, but it was a warrant acquired due to a dossier that was false and the product of his political opposition hiring a foreign spy to collect information from Russians. So...
False. A Fox News and Trumpster lie.

The Russia investigation began after the FBI learned that George Papadopoulos had been approached by a Russian agent. The agent told Papadopoulos the Russians had incriminating information about Hillary Clinton, including emails. Papadopoulos then mentioned to an Australian diplomat that the Russians had "dirt" on Clinton, the Australians contacted the U.S. government, and the FBI began to take a look.

the Gang of 8 including Mitch McConnell authorized it.

So...

Weird to see all the trumpers celebrating here. I mean, it's expected that no matter what they would ride trump's balls. But given that even the redacted report lists actions that are clearly impeachable, I wasn't expecting such an autistic victory dance.
It doesn’t matter what’s in the report. You don’t expect Democrat lawmakers go all in again on Trump do you? The media might, but the ones that went all in the past two years really got kicked in the balls the past two weeks and have shown that they can be taken for a ride as well. Furthermore the media has really been ground down and spit out over the past two years and haven’t really proven, as far as Trump allegations of wrong doing are concerned, to be that “fourth estate” they want to be.

Now it’s more about containing the man and his administration, not trying to impeach. That takes to much time and energy. While lawmaker are impeaching him, his cronies will be doing cronyism shit to further bury this country.

Even if you did, Mike would just deny it like the Dems and the Liberal Media deny the Truth that's in front of them.

You mean the truth, like trump directing people to lie about the trump tower meeting? That's what's in the report. You call that honesty?

Holy fucking shit!
@bobgeese . Set Homie straight

Then you're quibbling over FISA and how easily it dishes out warrants (I agree), but spying clearly carries a connotation of illegality. And this wasn't illegal, even if we wish FISA didn't exist. For an AG to claim it was spying is ridiculous.

It wasn't Barr's term. The congresswoman asked Barr if the federal government spied on the Trump campaign, as Trump himself alleged. Barr answered in the affirmative but said the spying might have been properly predicated.

I'm almost positive I heard him use it again today in the presser, but I'll doublecheck.

I've also never heard an AG or prosecutor refer to an FBI informant as a "spy".

They’re just referring to him as the nyt and WP did, you know, the first time he was caught spying on a presidential campaign.

You might want to educate yourself on the subject.

Lawmakers in the house and Senate have really not proven themselves to hold a man accountable even if it means the end of their careers. A lot of political capital has to be put into impeachment, something that very few reps are willing to give up. Playing the long game and knocking trump out in the next election is a safer bet.

I know the contents of even this redacted report have you triggered, but stay on topic.

ROFL! Do you know what redacted means? How can anyone be "triggered". You sound mighty butthurt that there was no Trump Russia Collusion. No Obstruction.

I recommend you turn off CNN and MSNBC and get some fresh air.

? The US authorizes spying against foreign nations every day in accordance with US law.

So you think the choice of the administration to use the term "spying" is because it resembles what our intelligence agencies do on a daily basis?

As a general rule, when you're constantly trying to play dumb about the meaning of words, you're on the losing side of the argument.

Then you're quibbling over FISA and how easily it dishes out warrants (I agree)

This isn't quibbling at all. FISC approves something like 99% of surveillance applications. Oversight is weak. This is a major issue involving our privacy rights. If pro-Trump partisans get on board that train (along with you, me, the EFF...) as a result of the Carter Page surveillance, then we should celebrate.

I never thought there was collusion and I'm a liberal. Such a waste of time, there are lots of legitimate reasons to rag on Donald Trump.

I will say it is interesting that the report found that Russia did influence the election in the favor of Trump. That's a big deal. I'm in no way saying Trump should be punished because of this, but wow. Those are serious crimes by the Russians

So you think the choice of the administration to use the term "spying" is because it resembles what our intelligence agencies do on a daily basis?
No. I think Trump himself chose the term because it's good politics to do so. I think the Democratic congresswoman, also for political reasons, asked Barr whether the federal government spied on the Trump campaign, and Barr answered yes but said the spying might have been properly predicated.
