The Pub - Belph's Battle with Anorexia

It appears to be out right now. It had been cold and rainy for about 3 weeks prior to this.

Where tosa is, I'm jealous of that weather. 26C and looking good for the week.

The weather here today was a high of 30 Celsius, humidex of 38. Too bloody hot for my liking.

I signed up for an organic food basket this Summer. We get it every other Wednesday and it has about 10 items in it. So far it's been a lot leafy stuff (kale, romaine, swiss chard, spinach, bok choy) but soon we'll be getting other stuff like peppers and cucumbers. I think we'll get squash in the Fall.

This past Friday was over 40C for about 3 hours and then it dropped to about 12C and it poured until sometime today.

Wow....

That's turrible. I'm sorry guys. We get something like.... seven months of gorgeous weather. And I'm in the mountains no less.

Our gym is open air for the most part so I'm outside all day. It's quite nice.

Yeah, well, it's crossfit so . . .

Being outside, and in a gym. That's the dream right there.

But is it crossfitty crossfit? Or a box that trains with some sense? If you're there, legs, I'm inclined to believe the latter.

He's probably taking pages from sheiko, swapping flies for burpees, and calling it a WOD.

Yeah a lot of our clients prefer our grungy, open air, converted auto shop to the places in town with A/C and such.
From my observations, the nicer the crossfit facility, the higher the level of d-bag.

We've built our reputation on our laid back and open attitude.

Sweet. There's a few boxes here and they all appear to be douchey and extremely expensive.

Well I don't really have anything to do with programming for the regular classes. I did for a short while, and got results, but it was "too hard". So I handed it back over.

I handle the training of special programs. The CF competitors, kayakers, Weightlifters, etc. People training to compete at something.

And the training is sensible. Even with the CF comp crew they do pretty typical strength cycles with separate capacity and skill assignments. Then, once they're closer to a competition I switch them over to more WOD-heavy training. Figuring out how to write those things effectively has been an experience.

I do try to make sure the shenanigan level is low. EG: you can't kip unless you can do a strict pull up.

Legit lol. Needs to have muscle ups in there somewhere though.

^^Congrats Kiwi!

So weather, huh? We had heat wave in the early spring but after that it's been raining for a month.

I wasn't into them as a kid... not sure why. I'm a fan now though. They can save some pretty average tasting stuff. Tuna, dry chicken....

Eat it as-is with a tiny bit of salt sprinkled on. Also works great in green salads. Avocados are awesome. Be sure to pick one that isn't rock hard, nor too squishy.

Or you could just buy a net of hard ones and wait for them to ripen. Caution, though - more than any other fruit or vegetable, avocados have a fuckin ridiculously narrow window of opportunity, so be sure to squeeze'em every twelve hours. (Jeeze, sounds like Titty Manual 101)

Avacados are the tits. Used to hate them, but I finally converted. I love them with breakfast. Added to an omelette it's hard to beat. And of course, it's great with Mexican plain or turned in to guacamole.

I am making a lot of salads with avocado at the moment.

Avocado, obviously. Some meat or fish, like chicken, tuna or smoked salmon. I might add another vegetable, like tomatoes or peppers. Some nuts- crushed walnuts or hazelnuts. Sometimes a little dried fruit, like slices of dried apricot or raisins. Sometimes mini-mozzarella. Some olive oil, sometimes also some balsamic vinegar or lemon juice. Sometimes some dried chili.

cheers for the suggestions lads!

Forgot about eggs. So bangin.
Scrambled in irish butter, baked bacon, peppers, mushrooms, some melted gouda, then sliced avocado..... shit I'm hungry now

That sounds awesome! might have to steal that idea thanks Legio!

KT,

Watched the Hannibal season 2 finale the other night. Some good TV there i tell you!

A guy at my Gym was doing Kipping "Pull Ups" last week. One of the ugliest things I've seen in a Gym, and that's including fat chicks.
