PR The PR (Personal Record) thread, v.5

635 moved well. Looking forward to seeing the 645 double. Great work, bud.

Thanks, toonie!

I know you've probably mentioned this, but what are you shooting for at the meet?

772.5kg (1703lbs) is the goal total.

The meet day numbers, however, for the peaking cycle I've been running are 649/425/672 = 1746. I'll be happy with anything over 1700.

That's some awesome squatting, dude. You're getting strong as shit.

I had a training day full of PRs that don't necessarily mean anything, but are still good to get to see progress.

140 kg snatch complex- +10 kg complex and hang snatch PR
161 kg clean & jerk complex- +11 kg complex PR
170 kg clean & jerk complex attempt- +5 kg hang clean PR

Bench - 400x2. Phone died, so no video. Elbows were hurting pretty badly, so I shut it down after the first set and did 315x9,8 close grip.

Good luck at the meet, Jim.

These weights in here are getting big, congratz to all.
Jake and Alex, do you have any meets coming up?

Thanks, gents. All I can do is do my best for my e-brahs.

I might lift in a meet on Saturday, but I haven't decided yet. It would be just to go and get some attempts on the platform, though. Nationals are in August, which is what we're building towards.

I was going to do the one in June here, but I have some soccer commitments already for my older boy.

Next one is November.

Front Squat 305x1 +10lb PR

Form is kinda shitty but I must have failed at 300 5x back a few years ago, so I'm pretty happy.

Spur of the moment meet today and I hit competition PRs across the board. 145/180 for a 325 total. These were 5 kg/8 kg and 13 kg competition PRs. This also ties my best total ever.

Great job guys, especially you Jake. Must have been very hard to come back from missing the opener but you did it!

So despite less than ideal circumstances and not touching anything over 132 in the past 3-4 weeks, I hit a pr squat at 165

I got horribly out of position and I think the bar stopped moving at one point but I refused to be pinned. Good example of what a squat should not look like but a PR.

^^^Nice work, although I have to admit I was paying more attention to the chick behind you.

Her squat form is pretty impressive too, it looks like she is squatting at least 100kg.

I think it is 104, I have seen her snatch around 50, don't know what she jerks though.

Thanks, brah. It wasn't really bad at all, because it didn't feel heavy at all. I'm also trying to get used to lifting under pressure, so that worked perfectly.

I mean, I missed four straight warmups (130, 120, 130, 135) before my first attempt, too. It happens sometimes.

Good work with the squat, though, yo. Keep it up.
