dan green said that there are 2 types of benching
standard set up he uses with leg drive and getting as tight as possible throughout the whole lift
i prefer being completely tight and lowering the bar slower until it touches my chest and then push through. this allows me to pause and not bounce the weight up. all these reps would count in a meet. is this why i stick there? hard to say without seeing it i imagine.
is there an advantage to the other setup or is it all preference (don't know any big names that don;t bench how dan does)? i've never been able to get leg drive to do much for me, which is almost certainly technique.
