The Photography thread!

Leaving aside the redundancy of "both are identical", which I mention only for the LOLs, there is a minor difference. I concede the difference may be so minor as to be not worth it at all, so I'll cop to that anyway.

I'd like to think I could have taken more time and gotten something better in any event, but I wasn't alone and couldn't so I am just shooting for the best I can do with it under the circumstances. Any suggestions along that line or comments on the other pics?

I'm curious what the difference is though. They look absolutely identical.

I would pay attention more to horizon lines. In you last flower photo, the horizon in the background is very tilted which is distracting. In the photo of the mountain with guy on the right, your horizon line is about 80% near the top of the frame which confuses the eye a bit to from your focus which I assume is the creek in the foreground. Put horizon line at about 2/3 from the top.

That with the new Sony?

Yes, I understand about the horizon, good points. I will keep in mind to correct that. I'm just upping the pics then snipping off the less useful bits and throwing them on here with no other editing because I'm usually putting this kind of thing off for so long I have several to post on any one occasion. I'm hoping to become somewhat more organized on that front sooner or later.

I've had to rely totally on the phone lately, the Nikon is on the fritz. There are many things that are not ideal about taking pictures with a phone, so I'm actually still pretty happy with how they turn out sometimes, but what do you think?

About the first part, I basically cut more off on the bottom so less stem is showing, and moved the whole frame a bit so the petals on the left are close to being centered in the picture. I grant it's such an oddly slight difference you're entitled to get a bit of a laugh from the attempt, since I saw at second glance just how minuscule it is, but it is what it is. I'm not convinced anymore that it was a beneficial change in any event.

Not seeing any of your photos for some reason
Still? It might be a settings thing on your end since apparently rj can. I make a habit of just copying and pasting the picture from imgur instead of coping the link, so that could be a problem for your browser for some reason, I'd guess.

Was on my end.

Amazing landscape for you to work with there.

In your first post with both? I don't see any difference at all or the pic with the guy on the right. They are identical.

This one:

Also, curious about this.

Including him in the photo was inadvertent but the way the guy seems to take on the same shape as the trees while he takes a picture interested me. It's a blown up crop from imgur, so I know it's far from perfect, but what say you, interesting at all? And yeah, to answer your burning question, we took a trip to Gros Morne National Park and I took a ton of pics. These are just samples to whet the appetite as I go through them for the gems. I hope to post some much better ones when I get to them.

I stayed at that hotel when I was in Shanghai 15 years ago, disappointed by the lack of Terror Dogs on the roof.
Maybe it’s changed come back and see, don’t blame me if it has bats though

Something else from our trip y'all might like, Cape Breton Highlands National Park,

I posted these mainly to share what we saw, and they are unedited--just upped from my phone (via imgur) as is, but taking that into account, I welcome any comments or suggestions, particularly if you think they're actually any good (LOL).
