Interesting boxing day weather....

just bought a nokia 1020 for 25 bucks for when I adventure myself in dodgy spots...

I've never posted any pics here. ;)

I'd have to dig some up.

You see that title and we all assume the TS when it's not you we get surprised, which is probably why he got the ban...
Probably.

Went to Yosemite today. Brought my gear mainly because my wife wanted a "epic" shot of her.... Anyway got a shot at Valley View about an 1.5 hours after sunrise. Sadly water levels were too high for any interesting foreground comp (usually round rocks with snow on it) and no clouds...Sunset and/or sunrise would be pretty epic here with some nice cloud and foreground coverage with heavy snow the day prior. I've lost interest in landscape photography for many years, but it kind of made me miss looking for the perfect conditions and composition to get the shot.

Yosemite always gives the most amazing water reflections.

It's nothing super special, but this is the view of the sunset from where I live now. We moved out of the city in the fall and now it's* about a 20 minute drive away. It was just an opportunistic snap on my phone, remarkable only because it's such a common occurrence. Please see blow for a couple of others.

The view across the road on a foggy day,

The view when you turn onto my road, taken in the fall,

Again, not expecting to win any contests with these, but I think they're nice to look at, FWIW lol

*the city, that is

Picked up a 15mm Laowa shift lens a few weeks ago to try for some more serious architectural work....

Ironically I'm finding often a little bit of key-stoning often works well on buildings, having them "lean back" slightly. Just nothing like the effect you'd have with angling a normal 15mm lens upwards which would probably be 10 times moreso than those building images.

Interesting lens. I wanted to try out a cheap-ish samyang fisheye, but it aint cheap anymore, due to trading restrictions most of tech goods doubled in price. Sad I was not able to get a 35mm sigma art for the old price.

Its certainly not cheap was a little over £1000 and thats with a cheaper chinese brand, the Nikon 19mm lens with tilt as well is £3000+.

Really I'd say its for things like trees/buildings were key-stoning distortion becomes more obvious and for easier stitching of images, that tree picture is a stitch to give a bit more coverage at the top. I'm guessing the full field of view of the lens is more like 9-10mm.

Not a fisheye, but I have the 14mm 2.8 samyang that I use for my Canon FF. Super sharp and easy to use. Was dirt cheap back in the days, but it hasn't been on a camera body for at least 7 years.

I played around with the Sigma art 35mm. Great lens and sharper then my old Canon 35L.
