Right now we have two high profile individuals who have cemented their name alongside Covid19 who will be remembered positively long time after this virus.

Li Wenliang:

At the end of December, several weeks into a mysterious disease outbreak that was only starting to gain attention, an ophthalmologist in China’s central city of Wuhan sounded a stark warning.

“A new coronavirus infection has been confirmed and its type is being identified. Inform all family and relatives to be on guard,” Li Wenliang typed into a chat group with his former medical school classmates on Dec. 30, according to Caixin, a Beijing-based media group. Soon, Li’s message would resonate much farther. As the spiraling crisis emerged, he came to be known as the whistleblower of a virus that ultimately took his life.

Andrew Cuomo:

(CNN)New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's daily coronavirus pandemic press conferences have become must see television. Democrats have been praising them, and some have even floated him as a 2020 presidential contender.

The rise of Cuomo shows that times of tragedy can make very unlikely political heroes.
It's not that Cuomo was previously regarded as a bad manager -- it's that he was an unpopular one.

And for the negative reasons:

Dr. Tedros Adhanom: The general-director of WHO

Accused of hiding facts on behalf of china.

And finally but not least..

Cuomo? Positive? The only reason he isn't coming off as badly as Trump is because the media desperately wants to make a hero out of him. New York is a disaster and that's on him, and I am constantly shocked at the media collectively fellating this guy as his State is the biggest clusterfuck in NA. I guess it pays to have a brother who is a prominent figure at CNN.

All of our healthcare workers, but specifically our nurses. Nurses around the country have been risking their lives while everybody else is on stay-at-home orders. If for some reason you did not have a high level of respect for nurses before this event, you should now.

Interesting I just wish this nightmare ti be over and no 2nd Waves please.. I love my family friends and my Job.

Dr. Fauci will be in any movie that Trump is portrayed in.

The people that need to be remembered are the healthcare workers who have risked their life with a lack of ppe, crazy draining hours of work, witnessing death daily.

The real heroes of our society and the true drivers of our economy.

supermarket workers, truck drivers, hotel, casino, restaurant employees, anyone who works in food service anywhere, nurses, doctors, factory workers. The dime a dozen “financial guys” are worthless during this crisis and don’t drive our economy. The day to day worker is what drives the economy. It’s What holds society together and helps it function.

Aside from being on television, what is Cuomo actually doing that other governors aren't? Other than trying to cut medicaid.

Doesn't this kind of depend on what you mean by "drives our economy"? Right now it's being left up to the people you're saying drive the economy and the economy is tanking and we're seeing record job loss, financial disaster for many, and generally a shitty economy, with frequent speculation about total collapse if we keep leaving it up to the people you're saying drive the economy.

Those leeches on society are the ones who move capital around and when capital doesn't get moved around, the whole system kind of atrophies and starts to die. The grunts on the ground are given their cues on where to go be essential, the cogs that make the machine go, by the soft handed parasites who shuffle the money around and profit off the labour of the guys who do the jobs.

Again, depending on what you mean by "drives the economy" I think it's at the very least a "both are necessary in the system as is." Now, that system could use a serious reworking, but here we are.

His done alot imo. His been opening up tent hospitals and fighting for ventilators, beds and recruiting doctors from other states. repeatedly calling people to stay inside. His made new york into a medical warzone

All shitty people asides from Li. Where's Stipe motherfucking Miocic? probably has more contributions as first responder than Cuomo's sorry ass.

No, daily life is driven by the day to day worker. Moving money around accounts does very little for the social good and the average person.

the people who are truly important to our service based economy are the people I named.

The guy who hoarded hand sanitizer and tried to sell it on Amazon and then got completely owned and had to give it all away.

Well, they're currently driving it off a cliff. I hope we get the people who do very little social good back in action soon before it all comes crashing down.

Wait the people keeping the country alive providing essential material and food are “driving America off a cliff”

lmao you’re a clown

No, we have a service based economy. And since everyone is quarantined these things are taking a huge hit. Some dime a dozen financial stooge will not remedy that.

I'm a bit confused... On the one hand, you say "we have a service based economy"... But you opened with this:

"The real heroes of our society and the true drivers of our economy.

supermarket workers, truck drivers, hotel, casino, restaurant employees, anyone who works in food service anywhere, nurses, doctors, factory workers. "

What do you think a "service" is, exactly? That you included factor workers had me thinking you didn't think we had a service based economy?

Either way, the money pushes are the ones who organize labour, right now, whether we like it or not. Investment dries up and all of those economic drivers stop driving. If what we have cut out the excess at the moment and only the "True drivers of the economy" are doing their thing, what does it mean when the economy is tanking historically right now?

Yes, I may be a clown though.

After this is over the stock broker won’t be remembered for shit while the supermarket guy or girl who keeps the shelves stocked and you eating every night will be remembered as the heroes they are.

the unsung heroes of the country. The people who are looked at as expendable by a certain segment of our population.

Who isn't doing that? NY is in the state it's in because he didn't act fast enough.

I don't disagree. I'm just saying that if we leave it up to them, the country will literally fall apart. The financial sector, for all their many faults, organize the system as it is. Without that organization, all of the front line workers just stop showing up. Shuffling capital around is central to the system as it is, whether we would like it to be or not.
