I don't really find too much value at this point regarding that fight. I personally felt he lost as well, but it was such a while ago and he has improved a good amount since then. His legacy is strong in my opinion for how dominant his wins were, not his record. Had that gone down as a loss, I personally feel his legacy would be still phenomenal. I remember watching that fight live thinking "holy hell this guy never gets fucking tired what is wrong with him?!" and being impressed that he was able to fight with such an exhausting style for 3 rounds.

I don’t even like khabib but tibia was way bigger then khabib in that fight and looked juiced. Not saying he was or not. Fight should have been a draw or split to tibia if I HAD to pick .I remember Joe Rogan being in shock after decision lmaooo not like he’s the deciding factor but no one knew khabib then so they didn’t have that bias

Khabib won 30 - 27 on all scorecards. He was the aggressor throughout and Tibau had his back against a cage for most of the fight. Joe Rogan's commmentary was particularly bad for this fight.

I don't think size is the issue, he never looks that much bigger than other guys at LW.

The issue is his wrestling/grappling is miles ahead of everyone else in the top 15. So is his strength.

It is odd that in the top 15 there isn't one good wrestler that can also grapple. There isn't even a great wrestler period. At WW you've had St Pierre, Koscheck, Covington, Usman and Woodley, who were all near impossible to get down at one point and could take down most opponents. At LW you have some OK defensive wrestling in Gathje, Ferguson has good BJJ but little offensive wrestling, same for Oliviera.

The rest like Cerrone, Felder, Hooker, Barboza, Poirier, have similar holes.

Not a knock on Khabib as he fought the best, it just seems strange.
