Its economic model is communism and its roots are in Marxism.

They have a planned economy which can be considered left wing, yes. But in reality that has also collapsed, and their citizens rely on an informal parallel economy for everyday life, which is tolerated by the state.
So the end result is a mixed economy with heavy central planning, similar to what the Nazis had.

It basically has an inherent design flaw, that causes it to fail spectacularly every time. It requires a temporary "dictatorship of the proletariat" do be formed, which (on paper) is supposed to represent the working class, seize power, and use it dismantle capitalism and form a class-less society.

Unfortunately once the dictatorship is formed, it inevitably ends up leading to massive corruption, consolidation of power, and the opposite of a class-less society.
