Most people that post in here know the story of Dynamite Kid getting his teeth knocked out by Jacques Rougeau and a roll of quarters but heres a first hand account of it by Raymond Rougeau who taught Jacques how to throw the punch and was there when it happened holding Pat Patterson by the throat so he wouldnt interfere
Its 30 minutes long but its a great story

How many different versions are there of this incident?

How many different versions are there of this incident?
As a guy who read everything on this incident as well as watching every shoot on this already, there's basically one version and alot of hearsay. Facts:

1. Superstar had it wrong; Dynamite did not cut the Rougeau Brother's pants so there was no way Superstar could've seen it because it didn't happen like that. Curt Hennig fessed up that it was actually him who did it and it has been corroborated by everyone involved and in the know such as Curt Henning, Dynamite Kid, Jacques and Raymond Rougeau, Bret Hart, Davey Boy Smith, and Bad News Brown and this incident started in Syracuse, NY.

This Superstar story reminds me of Hulk Hogan's story about how he saw Shawn Michaels pin Bret Hart in the Montreal Screwjob or how Ric Flair was in PR and in the lockerroom the night Brody was murdered.

2. Jacques went to Vince about Dynamite cutting up their pants etc and word got back to Dynamite and Davey Boy via Vince McMahon himself and Dynamite denied it and was livid.

3. While the boys were playing cards in the lockerroom about a week later in Miami, Dynamite blindsided Jacques and knocked him to the ground with an open slap to the side of Jacques's ear and then laid in a few good kicks that puffed up his face.

4. Raymond was an actual amateur boxer who had a decent reputation but hurt his leg and was on crutches and when he tried to intervene, Dynamite told him not to worry that as soon as he healed up, Dynamite would give him his beating too.

5. For the next 3-4 weeks, Dynamite would continue to bully and belittle Jacques knowing Jacques wouldn't do anything. Jacques has stated numerous times that he felt so humiliated and was at his weakest, mentally. The following weeks after the attack was when Jacques was at his lowest point in his entire life.

6. Jacques talks to his dad about the incident and his dad and Raymond said to stand up to him and his father told him to get a roll of quarters for the punch.

7. It was in Fort Wayne and Vince asked to see all the boys as he had something to say. The boys didn't know what it was about but the Rougeau's skipped the meeting so Jacques could run to the bank. Vince told all the boys who were there that there would be no more fighting or shenanigans. Jacques gets back and after most of the boys cleared the lockerroom, the Rougeaus started talking to Pat Patterson and then Dynamite comes to the lockerroom going to shower and Jacques asked him how he was doing and right as Dynamite was about to answer, Jacques gave Dynamite his receipt and by all accounts, even Jacques, Dynamite didn't even go down. He went down to ONE KNEE, and then Jacques laid in a few kicks before Bret, Davey, and Bad News broke it up.

8. Dynamite lost 4 teeth and his gums were all torn up. Vince had Jacques pay what it costs to fix the teeth and Dynamite took the money and didn't get it fixed with that money. He kept it and got it fixed for free

9. Dynamite wanted revenge because he felt it tarnished his reputation as a legit tough guy but Vince said no and Dynamite didn't care. He said he was going to do it and then Vince informed him that Jacques had connection to the Montreal Mafia and he had taken a hit on Dynamite and his family. If Jacques "disappeared", then the Mafia would go and make Dynamite and his family "disappear" as well. Dino Bravo, who had the closest ties to the Montreal Mafia, confirmed this to Vince and hence the Bulldogs eventually leaving the WWF because Dynamite didn't want to stay there anymore.

10. And there is the story. Oh, a side note, Dino Bravo would later get killed by the Montreal Mafia via 17 bullets to the body and head.

5. For the next three weeks

That Dynamite/Rougeau story is one of the great all timers. Just to add a couple of things. When Dynamite got cracked in the mouth he was holding a coffee in one hand and a smoke in the other. And yes, by all accounts he didn't go down. Dino even says Vince was impressed with that.

Jacques would practice the punches over and over again on a rolled up mattress in hotels rooms with Ray.

I believe Dynamite did get his teeth fixed (for free by a friend) so he just pocketed the cash.

Jacques also claims that Dino Bravo pulled kind of a bitch move by not associating with him in the presence of the Bulldogs and their crew. (They were close before).

Yes, should've cleared it up that Dynamite kept the money and got his teeth done for free by a friend. Didn't use the money from Jacques to get it fixed.

I read dynamites book..holy..that guy had some issues...really good read though

What about Davey Boy being scared of Dynamite when WWE went to England in 91 or 92?

Whats the story there?
Dynamite was pissed about Davey Boy being the star and trademarking the Bulldog name. WWE went to England in 91 or 92 (not Summerslam but the Albert Hall battle royal) and wouldn't visit his hometown because he was afraid of Dynamite kicking his ass.

Davey did him wrong, and rightfully so after all the shit Dynamite did to him, was trademark the British Bulldog name but alot of the blame also goes on Dynamite for being the ass and prick he was and still is.

It was circa 1989 near 1990 when Dynamite was making a load of money compared to Davey even though they were a tag team, Dynamite was the bigger star and instead of doing what most tag teams did, he negotiated a deal so he made more than Davey and they weren't paid as a tag team. Diana, who was fairly bright and intuned with pro wrestling and how money was being made in the WWF at the time, she wanted to trademark the name "British Bulldogs" but Diana wanted Dynamite to pay half of the costs, which was a decent chunk of change and Dynamite told Davey and Diana to "go fook yourselves and do what you want. I'm the Dynamite Kid" and so Diana and Davey forked over the money to trademark the name. After the name was successfully trademarked, Davey Boy told one of the promoters that Dynamite was hurt (car accident I think) and that since Dynamite couldn't wrestle, he left Japan to return to the WWF as the British Bulldog and that's when Dynamite got pissed when he found out Davey was finally going on his own.

Of course after seeing Davey go by the British Bulldog, Dynamite decided to use the moniker in the UK when he wrestled at home (never in Japan as he was known as the Dynamite Kid) and Davey and Diana sent promoters cease and desist letters and that's what made Dynamite really pissed.

So it was 1991 and in England, Davey was booked on Max Crabtree's local show and Dynamite heard about it so he went to the show to "talk" to Davey. Davey heard the news and locked himself in the bathroom and Crabtree told Dynamite he wasn't at the show but Dynamite looked for him and didn't find him. It wasn't a WWE show as far as I can recall. So that's the story why Davey hid from Dynamite.

I think it lead to Dynamite and Johnny Smith being called the British Bruisers instead of the Bulldogs although that might have been a coincidence.

That's why. Davey left Japan and took the name British Bulldog with him and Dynamite started teaming up with Johnny Smith as the British Bruisers

I think GSPSAKU is pretty much the reigning Internet authority on the Dynamite Kid...

Although I did hear that when Davey went to do the autograph signing in Manchester that he heard Dynamite was on his way so he called the police and hid in the toilets until he was gone.

That second part is true as well. It was in 1994 and Dynamite still lives outside of Manchester. Davey was invited as the big WWE star coming home and doing a signing at Howe Bridge, Manchester and he got word that Dynamite was coming to see him and he did, infact, lock himself in the bathroom while having the promoter call the police. Dynamite DID show up and was escorted out. That was the last time, to my knowledge, that Davey and Dynamite ever "interacted".

On a side note, here's a crazy story that was always part of wrestling lore but no one ever knew if it was really true as some claimed it was true while others say it was just another tall pro wrestling tale.

Fellow Englishmen, John (JR) Foley's young daughter was in a car accident and Foley was hoping for a huge settlement but apparently she wasn't injured "enough" so he went to Dynamite and asked Dynamite to break her legs at the knee caps. Without hesitation, Dynamite did so and broke both of her legs...oddly enough Foley's daughter's name is Michelle, just like Dynamite's then wife. I knew Dynamite was a sick and sadistic person but I didn't really think this was true. I first heard of this story circa 1994 or 1995 in one of the old dirtsheets as I had become an acquaintance to Dave Meltzer. In 2002, I read arguably one of the worst and deplorable "wrestling books" ever concocted and the story was included in there. I corresponded to Dave and asked him if he had heard about it and if he thought it was true. Dave emailed me that to his knowledge, it was true. Sure enough, in 2013, Dynamite was asked the question and he flat out said it was true WITHOUT HESITATION. He was a sick man then and even a sicker man today.

I didnt know the full story there... Although I heard the method - ball head hammer to the kneecaps... And that she still has a link to this day.

The thing I wonder is whether or not she agreed beforehand...

What was the book you read?

I think I first heard of that story when I read Pain And Passion Of Stampede by Heath McCoy

Supposedly no but her dad, John Foley, insisted and took her to Dynamite's house to get it done.

Pliney, the book is Diana Hart's Under the Mat. One of the very few autobiographies that I only read once. She paints her whole family as evil, selfish people and they only people she mentions in a positive light is Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon oddly enough.

Here is Dynamite saying the story of him breaking Foley's daughter's legs as being completely true and shows no emotion, no remorse, no signs of having a heart. It's at the 2:40 second mark. The whole kickstarter pretty much sucked though and this preview was basically the meat of it
