The new king? Which win was more impressive Jon over Gane or GSP over Bisping?

Bisping was a far tougher style matchup if you actually know MMA. He had some of the best TDD in the division. Prime Shale could barely get him down and most thought he lost that. Insane cardio, high workrate and durability too. When Georges got on top of him Bisping was slicing him with elbows too and Georges couldnt get anything going. Bisping has always been incredibly hard to wrestle and control.

Gane had never fought a good grappler in his life and was ragdolled by a Francis with 1 leg. Hes one of the worst grapplers in MMA.

Tim Kennedy thoroughly schlonged Bisping, calm down bud.

Funny if you asked this question right before this fight people would be talking up Gane. Bisping was at the tail end of his career and every MW was chomping at the bit to even get a chance because they knew they would be champ. Gane is in his physical prime and clearly #1 ahead of everyone else.
Yeah hilarious that people are doing a 180 because of the meltdown over the Jones win.

GSP also got touched up on the feet by Bisping and got damaged and the finish came in the later rd's.

Jones finished Gane like he didn't belong in there . It was total domination, plus it's HW. Obviously Jone's win is more impressive

Jones used his fight IQ. He wanted no part of the stand up with Gane and used the massive skill gap in grappling to own his soul.

GSP beat a blind old man. Jones just tapped a top HW.

GSP's win versus Bisping was clearly a better win than the Gane win, but Bones is still probably 1 and GSP 2?

Bisping sucked... not even close.
Bisping was actually a proper champ, underrated fighter and top 10 MW of all time. Who has actual skills in life MMA, Gane is kickboxer who has no ground game or submission defense or positional awareness on the ground.

Bisping was a paper champ who almost lost to out of prime Anderson right before becoming champ. He wasn't even top 2 at the time, while Gane was undisputably top 2 after winning the stand up against the scariest knock out artist in the history of HW, Francis Ngannou.

Also, GSP didn't move up until he found someone he could beat. He didn't want to face Anderson at all.
He dominated Andy besides that knee when he turned for his mouth guard. Bisping knocked out Rockhold so how was he not #2?

Gane is highly ranked in the weakest division in the UFC and hasn’t really beaten anyone. Gane had cherry picked opponents and avoided fighting a wrestler until now.

This is revisionist history at its finest. Bisping was at the tail end of his career and had one eye at the time. GSP had also been able to out grapple him when they trained together so the whole thing was pretty strategic on Georges part. It's also the same reason he didn't stick around to fight Whittaker or Romero because they were unfavourable matchups.

Lmao Bisping was the worst champ in MW history. Obviously a troll question

Gane wasnt even good enough to be champ and hes in a worse division. At best he was 3rd behind Francis and Stipe. And Blaydes was always better TBH.

1. HW>MW
2. Jones completely dominated, while GSP fought a close fight until one of the late rounds.
3. Bisping had multiple defeats, was out of prime, and wasn't even top 2 of his division. GSP didn't want to move up to fight Anderson but wanted to move up as soon as Bisping became champ. Shows how little GSP thought of him.

Jones win isn’t as impressive as beating bisping. Gane has zero grappling and was never a champ. Bisping was more skilled than Gane and had fought the absolute best his entire career. Gane is still new to the sport

Gane was overhyped by morons who don't know what they're watching. Bisping is much better than Gane.

He beat the best fighter who was Rockhold at the time then beat Andy. Bisping at least wasn’t a fish out the water in grappling like Gane is.
He beat a Rockhold who didn't take him seriously and had a controversial decision over Anderson who was getting back from a devastating leg break in his home country. Bisping was a horrible MW champ and the easiest comeback fight for GSP. We all know Whittaker or Yoel would have been night and day compared to Ping. People comparing overcompensating Bisping as a worthy win compared to Gane is just sad man. <45>Had GSP unified with Whittaker and finished him then this would be worthy of debate.

I did ask it, and you are correct, that was the narrative everyone said. I thought it would be similar and Jones would choke out Gane.

Jones vs. Gane is similar to GSP vs. Bisping | Page 5 | Sherdog Forums | UFC, MMA & Boxing Discussion

Actually you revising history as Bisping being an easy win is revisionist. Odds were even going into the fight.

Most fighters were picking Bisping too.

Bisping was pretty bad lol.

Dude was literally the MW Matt Serra… a career long journeyman who cashed a lottery ticket.
is the lottery ticket getting the fight or winning the fight? I'd agree on the getting the fight part but not winning the fight. He won because he was better on the night.

Yes an elite grappler who outgrappled Roger Gracie in MMA. Def a bum.

Not. Gane is as bad as it gets for MMA grappling short of Alex Pereira.

Who hasn’t outgrappled Roger Gracie in MMA LOL?

You’re lying to yourself and everyone else with this revisionist history… Bispings career was a joke until he went 1-1 with Rockhold. Then he barely decisioned a 50 year old Dan, lost to GSP, and got easily retired by WW Gastelum via KO.

His title run is still remembered as one of the most cowardly runs ever. Singlehandedly killed a deep MW division.
