The Myth Of Benson Being A Big 155'er.

He never was a big LW, he had huge fucking legs. If he has normal sized legs he probably could have made FW

Tall != Big

Bendo has massive legs.

Benson and Mcgregor are about the same size, Mcgregor might be actually bigger. Benson's walk around weight is 180, Mcgregor is 180-85.
No i'm pretty sure that McGregor walks around at 200+ lbs

Who exactly walks around?

did I just read that Conor walks around at 185? I didn't think he really got out of shape between fights; seems like he's always got visible abs which would mean his BF% is pretty low. Where does that ~ 22% loss of body weight come from? Someone lean is about 45% water. I dont understand how someone is cutting 40lbs... and i know i can cut 5-10 lbs (for BJJ) so i am not a complete newb to weight cutting. DO you have a source?
Who needs a source when you can say anything? Conor's walk around weight goes up 2 pounds every time I see someone post about it

Has been squashed. Just look at his opponent on the front page. Typical 170'er.

And guess who he resembles more? That's right Conor. So if Bendo was a big 155'er than Conor is definitely too big for 145 and more suited for 155.

Bendo will show Conor the blue print to taller, lankier fighters and in Bendo's case much bigger. Show that grasshopper what's up, Bendo.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Well I'm pretty sure Conor already knows how to get his ass kicked by a bigger and more technical opponent.

Benson was never called huge because of his height, iirc he's 5'9" which is perfectly average for his division. He was called huge because he's built like a tank and cut a lot of weight. Hell, one of the reasons he's at WW in the first place is because he's said in the past that he's having a harder and harder time making the successful cut to LW.

People used to complain on sherdog about how bendo is a huge LW when he was champ .

Those tree trunk legs

Bendo over Thatch was one of the most underrated victories in recent years. THAT is a size advantage.

Yeah, but Thatch isn't really any good. Like, at all...

Also, to TS.....huh?

I think you're mistaken

Conor probably walks around the same weight he weighed in at against diaz. He was 168 a whole week before their fight.

I don't think so. Mcgregor had to eat like a horse to make it up to 168 for his last fight.

What are you talking about? MacTap and his coach said he walks around 168-170. He didnt even make 170 in hist last fight. Try to get the facts straight son!

Conor does not walk around at 180-185 lol

Ok here are some details for the uninformed ones out there. I did pay attention to this and took an interest, of course I didn't went and put them on a scale so we are speculating but it's definitely an informed and detailed opinion.

Conor walks around in the low 170's for his FW fights.

Time-stamped:

He most likely enters the cage on fight night for his FW fights in the mid 160's max high 160's (his coach told us this a few times).
Also this can be considered a big cut for a FW fighter around 22-25 lbs or so to a base of 145.

For his LW fight (he was days away from a 155 bout) but then for marketing, negotiations and whatnot it was made into a 170 scale bout that meant he had a very easy fight week weight wise ahead of him so the diet could be quite loose.

As you can imagine originally fighting at LW he was bigger then his FW fighter duh ? now with the new scale terms it was even easier all he had to do was hit that 170 lbs base and of course he even overshoot it because he had a very easy cut, this man was used to do around a 25 lbs cut to a smaller % base of 145 now all he had to do is shed 8-9 lbs to a much higher base of 170, that was a very easy cut and the reason he overshoot it.
Yes he did cut, look at signs at the weight ins, the full on sweat clothes, the going for water the moment he got off the scale and all the reports like a week or two before it when he was said to be in the high 170's to even some claiming to be in the low 180's.
(Brendan Schaub on his podcast said he met with Conor a week or so before he made the drive to his fight and Conor told him his 178 lbs).

So for his LW (now WW scale bout cause protect that brand / open up possibilities if you win / Nate's money negotiations etc) he was somewhere around 176 max 178 I would estimate considering the way he looks at FW and the claims his there in the mid/high 160's it would be safe to assume that.

Nate was heavier he indeed had a double digit weight cut but nothing major since there both LW fighters and not real WW fighter (those dudes cut 20-25 lbs, a good sized proper WW is bigger then both Nate or Conor there in the low to high 190's and some extremes outliners are 200) so Nate with more body fat on him, fact that Conor pointed out many times over was 5 or so lbs on top of Conor somewhere in the range of low 180's on fight night.
