The More I think about it...

Punk should have probably taken the streak. He pulled a match of the year candidate out Old Man Taker, and the match had one of the most entertaining lead ups in years. All on a short program. He probably wouldn't have become so bitter imo. You could just see after that Wrestlemania he lost any sort of passion for WWE and wrestling in general.

Many of taker's mania matches were incredible, especially in his old age.

That's the problem, it STILL wouldn't have been enough. He could have ended the streak, in the last match of the card, for the WWE Title, and he'd have bitched about it. Rock and Brock got paid more than he did, HHH had more pyro, Cena's match was longer, Ryback didn't die in his match. That's the problem with Baby Phil, NOTHING is ever good enough.

The guy was given more than any full time roster member not named John Cena, and it STILL wasn't enough.
- Longest reigning World Champion in the last 25 years
- Rights for 'Cult of Personality' paid for, to the point of it not being overdubbed, the Cactus Jack theme is overdubbed, and that was fucking stock music.
- His girlfriend forced into main event positions, given longest reign in Divas history, and even got off scot free when she berated a guest
- Given Paul Heyman as manager at his request
- Able to veto Daniel Bryan beating him for the title
- Tour bus written into his contract

Even after all that "I want to wear fight shorts with sponsors, why can't I have that? Brock gets to have that, why don't I get to have that?!", "What do you mean you want Sheamus on the cover of your game, well they want me on the game, so I should be on the cover", "What?! I have to be on this TV Show to promote the show AND I have to wrestle tonight?! Fuck you, that's not fair!"

It wouldn't have mattered in the end.

Who did AJ berate?

Michelle Beadle.

She was working as a special guest announcer/interviewer for Tribute to the Troops, she made what she thought was a friendly gesture to Punk, saying "Hey fuckface, how you doing", and AJ went fucking nuts on her.

There have been two or three accounts that have said that Beadle was clearly saying it like one friend would say to another, and AJ went insane, WWE apologised profusely. But nothing actually happened with AJ.

AJ looks weird now, she's all pale and skinny. Probably only eating almonds and lettuce or some other weird crap.

The guy cried about Rock getting a main event spot at Mania over the "full timers". But now if he ever fights in UFC he's gonna get a co-main spot on some ppv, probably against some jabroni they're gonna bring in just for the occasion, ahead of legit fighters who have been putting in work in their weight class for years. So fuck this guy.

Nah, he still would've whined about playing second fiddle to The Rock.

Punk has some valid points about the state of the WWE and how they book certain guys, like Cena. Bottom line is though, is that he's just bitter because he wasn't being booked that way. In short, he wants to become everything he supposedly hates.

Nothing but jealousy, really.

He wanted all of the Cena benefits, without all of the Cena workload.

I dug Punk the product but Punk the employee/co-worker/person can, by all accounts, eat a dick.

I remember being at an RoH show shortly after his departure and my buddy asked some staff guys if they thought he might ever be back. Three dudes who set up the lights and hawk DVDs all snorted and said, "I fucking hope not." in unison. Told me what I needed to know.

Punk beating the streak wouldn't have stopped Punk from quitting, he would have gotten what he wanted and probably quit sooner which would have been a complete waste of the streak.
